GMC Jimmy (1989)
for sale
Price: US $200.00
Price: US $200.00
Up for auction is my 1989 GMC S15 Jimmy. This is being relisted because of a NON-Paying Bidder. I've owned this
Jimmy for about 10 years. I worked as a manager for Florida's largest GMC
dealer when I saw this Jimmy coming in on trade and I knew I had to buy it for
myself. The couple that owned it (were older) purchased it new and had taken
really good care of it. At that time it had about 80K miles and I had to fight
one of the other managers for it because he also wanted it.
It has been a second vehicle for me, and there were short
periods of time that it was my main and only vehicle. I used this Jimmy to
bring my children to college (among other things), and towing a big u-haul
trailer at 75 mph for hundreds of miles (on the highway) was no problem. It has
a class 3 hitch on it. It has always run great, and other than normal
maintenance stuff I've never done anything to it. I would Not have a fear in
the world to just get in it right now and drive straight through to California, it's that reliable, tight, and mechanically
sound.
In the last year and a half I've replaced the water pump, alternator and the battery, and just about a week ago I put in a new radiator because of a small pin hole in the plastic tank. I did a transmission service on it , changed the plug wires and plugs, distributor cap and rotor. I have always changed the oil as recommended and I
have always had synthetic Mobil 1 in the engine. Between oil changes there has
never been a level drop on the dip stick (it always showed to the full line).
The oil pressure is at 40 lbs. at an idle (like the day it was new). The tires
have less than 200 miles on them. The chrome is all great, The rubber on the
bumpers , the carpeting , headliner, etc. is all in great shape. This is an
un-restored original car that has never been tampered with (it's all
stock). It has always been a Florida
car so there is virtually no rust on her. There are a few very small quirks
with her such as when you make a left turn the blinker arm doesn't return to
the off position (you have to do it manually, the part to repair that is $16.), The A/C blows very cold but the fan only blows on high (which is not a problem
for us down here), the drivers seat bottom is starting to show signs of wear, etc., but these are all trivial items for a nice clean unrestored 27 year old car.
These vehicles are starting to increase in value everyday
and the prices are on the rise and have nowhere to go but up ! Just like the older Mustangs and Camaros , everyone had one (as everyone owned these original SUV's also) and people wish to relive their younger days and the memories and that's what make them so popular today. I get looks everywhere I go and people come up to me all the time and want to chat about this Jimmy. Do yourself a
favor and get a piece of history and collect ability while they're still
affordable. This is better than money
in the bank !
BID WITH CONFIDENCE, you'll be very happy you did !
A Bank to Bank wire transfer is REQUIRED within 24 hours of the close of the auction ! If you don't have the money please don't bid.
