rodsager.com 1988 GMC 3500 4x4 Long Bed This is a solid running truck with the legendary 454ci (7.4L) big block engine. This is a one ton truck chassis that has double the payload capacity of standard 1/2 ton trucks like a Ford F150 or a Chevy 1500. This truck is a 4 wheel drive vehicle with a heavy duty transfer case offering 2 wheel drive, 4 wheel high and 4 wheel low. The truck's body panels have some dings and dents and the paint is thoroughly worn, but there is no body rust. windshield is cracked.
The engine is strong and was recently tuned up with a new cap, rotor, plugs, wires and a fuel injection cleaning. Brand new tires from Les Schwab over $900 and less than 1000 miles. New brakes up front and 50% plus in the rear. Brand new 3' exhaust with flowmaster muffler. New battery, new radiator hoses. Interior is nearly perfect with no rips or tears in the upholstery. Headliner sags down a bit, I have it pinned up in place, but it is not torn.
This truck has a few very minor electrical ground problems. All the important things work, lights, wipers, etc. AC system was tested and works but needs recharge. Transmission is the beasty Turbo Hydramatic 400 quite possibly the best automatic transmission ever built. It is in good shape and shifts well.
