I am selling my extensively modified but very streetable 1997 honda civic ex coupe, 5 speed manual. It has had pretty much all the engine/trans/suspension parts replaced with factory or quality aftermarket parts. The engine block has a d16a6 block, d16z6 head, with Vitara pistons 75.5MM, FJ Distributors custom length rods, hastings piston rings, ACL race bearings. The head has a zex turbo cam, zex valve springs, and z6 head was rebuilt before installing said aftermarket parts.
The head and block were installed using a Honda OEM headgasket and ARP headstuds to prevent headlift (factory bolts are weak under boost). The block was cleaned, balanced, machined/honed to accept the new engine components. The engine is fed forced air thru a Garrett T3/T4: 57 trim journal bearing turbo, .63 A/R exhaust housing, 2.5 inch custom intercooler piping and intercooler, and exhaust gasses are blown out the 2.5 inch downpipe and thru the 3 inch exhaust from downpipe back (no cat). Has a Magnaflow turbo muffler and a Vibrant Resonator, sounds great. The car sits on quality Skunk2 shocks/coilover kit (lowered about 2.5-3 inches), has skunk2 front and rear camber kit, A-spec subframe brace, and has tasteful 205/45/R16 Sportmax 002 wheel with Falken Ziex 912 series tires with approximately 55% tread remaining.
Also included on stock 14” steel wheels are Mickey Thompson Drag Radials for the track and Yokohama tires for the back with only 90 miles on all tires approximately. OEM style wheel covers are included for a “stealth look” when the drag radials are put on. The engine is built to handle about 400whp with the help of an ASE certified car mechanic, and the transmission was rebuilt with new bearings/gears, and an MFactory LSD and dragger style clutch capable of holding 385 ft/lbs of torque was installed at 2020 customs by Gman, a renowned Acura/Honda wiz. The engine is running at 12psi, and making 310hp, and 230 TQ to the crank. I have a dyno sheet to show (270whp and 200 wtq) The car only weighs about 2, 400lbs, so it really scoots.
This Honda has premium audio all around: It has a Sony 12” sub and amp, Pioneer cd deck, JL Audio front speakers, Pioneer rear speakers, and oem front tweeters. The interior includes a Skunk2 shift knob, reupholstered door panels and center armrest, and of course, the racing seats. There is no air conditioning, to make room for the turbo kit as well as no cruise control, but everything else was kept on the car (power steering, power door locks, sunroof etc..) The motor was rebuilt at 202k with the forged engine items, and two pistons replaced at 206K because of tuning issues. That was sorted out and all works great, car was retuned on the street and on the dyno. It runs beautifully and idles very smooth. The transmission was rebuilt at about the same time as the engine, at 201k. Since I owned on the car, the oil has been changed every 3k or less (currently has Mobil1 5w30 Synthetic), and I have a long list of service records available as well. Nearly all the suspension has been replaced, motor mounts, bearings, all fluids flushed/replaced.
It is capable of much more power with the addition of a alcohol/meth kit and a larger radiator (for reliable/safe power). The motor was tuned by Dave Lee, a well known Honda tuner in Washington State. I will let the pictures do the explaining for the rest of the modifications as well as the list of parts ordered for my civic. I have spent many thousands on this car getting it to the level it’s at now, and since I’m done working on it, and wanting to move unto an old truck project, I must let this go.
The only 3 things wrong with it I know of, is the 3 inch exhaust needs a couple more hangers welded to the exhaust to keep it from occasionally rattling under hard cornering, and the trunk has a small leak on the left side. When you put it in reverse, there is a little notch noise, but it all works fine. All lights, gauges, functions of the car works flawlessly.

TOTAL INVESTED 16K+ and bought car for 5, 500 in 2007. Over $21k in this car total!
Has 310 HP and 230 TQ, pulls very strong to redline @ 7, 400RPMS
FYI, this car has a modified p28 ecu from an older civic so it could be tuned for boost. It will not pass emissions most likely.

“Passenger fender and door have a few scratches/dents, rear bumper has a scratch on bottom left. Original paint job, small spots on rear spoiler clearcoat is wearing, and front bumper also. Rock chips here and there. Exhaust rattles on sharp turns, small trunk leak on left side. There are some interior squeaks/rattles as it is a car from 1997. Door panels have light scratches/damage. Paint is 7/10. All lights, gauges, accessories work great.” |
