2002 Honda Insight Automatic. CVT. 127, 800 miles. I have appx 40 of these cars. With that being said, I'm not selling parts at this time as I need my parts for the cars I am selling. I have spent the last month, on and off, getting this car right. And it is as good as it can be with absolutely no problems. Wanted this car to be one of the best available. No accidents ever. Clean Carfax. Carfax has a +$790 due to the info in the carfax. Lifetime miles per gallon: 47.2MPG
According to Carfax this car was a California car for the first ten years. According the fasteners and overall appearance of all metal parts show very little rust.
The Automatic Transmission works perfectly. Transmission fluid just changed.
IMA battery is STRONG. Freshly charged and discharged and charged this battery should last a long time. Grid charger and harness included as all of these cars should be grid charged frequently. Nothing but the best for this car. The grid charger/discharger is from hybridautomotive.com and I believe is appx $400 without the installation charge. Of course the harness is installed and you should grid charge all insights on an as needed basis (appx every 2-4 weeks).
Interior- above average. I removed the seats and door panels, washed and cleaned the seat covers and door panels thoroughly outside the car and reinstalled. Cold A/C. The carpets were freshly shampooed.
Exterior- above average. It has the normal amount of chips and scrapes you would find on a 13 year old car but there are NO dents or door dings. If you look closely there is a slight crease below the filler door but that is hard to see. Overall the body is very nice. The wheels on this car are probably as nice as any other Insight I have. Probably due to the fact it spent a lot of time in California. I had the car professionally waxed and buffed and detailed.
Underneath- above average. All underneath body panels intact and even the body panels were cleaned and polished (my friends thought I was nuts doing this).
Engine compartment-above average. Cleaned the EGR plate of any carbon buildup. Had this professionally detailed.
Mechanics-above average. No check engine lights, tranny purrs as it should, motor fires right up and sounds great. Should last easily for another 200, 000 mi.
Oil and Filter - just changed. Ready to go.
Tires-Brand New Bridgestone RE92 OEM Tires. Zero miles. Balanced and ready to go.
Car also goes into auto-stop easily which is where the engine shuts off when idling and starts instantaneously when you step on the gas. This helps your mpg greatly and some Insights don't go into auto-stop.
You guys buying these cars with bad tranny's and IMA's will be faced with possible repairs of $4k or more. This car is done. Tranny purrs. Strong IMA. Engine has ZERO leaks. Get in, drive and give me a positive feedback. Money was no issue in making this the best that it can be. No corners cut. Gas tank-on full of course. No issues. PERIOD.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with this car. I'm appx 20 miles NW of Indianapolis, IN and you can fly in to IND (Indianapolis, IN airport) and I'll meet you at the airport and you can drive home. Anywhere including Timbucktoo. This car is ready to go. I am not a dealer but a retired enthusiast that has a ton of these cars that I enjoy working on. I'm not going to sell a car and then have you give me a negative for whatever reason as I have many more to go. But as of now just this one for sale. No sight seers of InsightWorld as I'm too busy enjoying what I do. Here to sell a great car for a great price. Where else can you get a car that can go 50 MPG and has NO problems with a great battery and tranny with a grid charger? I am selling this as is with no warranties expressed or implied. With that said if there is a problem, let me know about it. I have thousands of positive comments and NEVER had a negative comment and not going to start now. I want both of us happy. I have spent a lot of time working on getting this car ready. My last Insight I sold to a guy in Georgia that ended up buying a second one from me. And he's very pleased with both cars. You will be very happy with this car. This hobby has been an absolute joy that I wouldn't trade for anything. Clear title on hand. $500 Deposit expected immediately after you win the auction. Balance due within one week and I can assist with shipping at buyers expense. Car won't be released until funds are verified by my bank as valid.
I have a couple of local buyers that are waiting for me to finish this car and will be notified it is now done. First reasonable offer is the new owner.
