I'm selling my 1988 Honda Prelude with only 105, 574 miles on it. I have owned it for two and a half years and used it for anything we needed it to do. It's incredibly reliable, economical (24 mpg city, 30 mpg highway), and has taken my wife and I on a few road trips across the western half of the US. The interior is like new and the engine is in great shape. Everything in the car works as well as it did the day it came off the line (except the clock, which has been stubbornly dark). It has power windows, power sunroof, cruise control, A/C that blows cold, and a new stereo that connects to a USB and charges your phone. The backseat folds down so you can throw skis, snowboards, lumber, or whatever longer items you have in the trunk. This car can and will do a little bit of everything, it's done all we wanted to do from hiking to skiing to hauling our Christmas tree last year.
The mileage is all on the original engine, nothing has been rebuilt. My great aunt bought the car used then drove it lightly around her small northern California town for many years. She then lost her eyesight and the car sat for a few years, driven once in awhile by someone who would take her around town for errands. She gave the car to me when I got married. We put some work into it to get it up and running again and she has run without a hitch for the 53, 000 miles we have owned it for.
Honda Preludes from these early years are exceptional cars, this will drive for another 150k miles easy. It would be a great car for someone looking for a cheap, reliable way to get around or if you want to relive your early 20's experience of driving this zippy car around a little too fast. I am selling because I've moved to Montana and need a better car for winter time and snow. It's a great car and I'm sad to see it go. It's been well taken care of, including the work below since we got it.
