When AM General LLC decided to offer a civilian version of its military M998 Humvee to the public in 1992, it became an instant hit among four-wheel-drive, off road enthusiasts. With a proud reputation of servicing our armed forces in Operation Desert Storm, the first Hummers offered where all Limited Edition numbered units totaling only 316.  As each year passed, AM General continued to improve and upgrade the H1 with refined options and enhanced road manners.  Production never exceeded 1, 432 units in a peak sales year, but generally averaged only 800 H1’s sold each year for their 15-year run.  With new diesel emission and mpg requirements from our Federal government pressuring the now combined General Motors and AM General team, the decision was made to terminate the H1 for civilian purchase.  No H1 models were offered in 2005 as an all new final edition was being created for 2006. This 2006 model became known as the Alpha, and took approximately 3.5 years to completely reengineer and modify to incorporate a modern Duramax 6.6L Turbo-diesel mated to the 5-speed Allison 1000 automatic transmission.  It would provide their lucky owners the most horsepower & torque, best fuel economy, larger fuel capacity, quieter ride, better steering, enhanced cooling, and stronger chassis than ever before!  It would be the ultimate Hummer H1, earning the Alpha moniker proudly as the true leader!  Only 720 of these amazing vehicles would ever roam the streets, and we could not more excited to offer this particular late production, highly optioned example!
This highly desired Wagon example was built February 2006 and finished in factory B25- Gloss Black over rare Ebony Leather interior with gray accent piping! It was ordered with all options including the Off-Road Adventure Package!  The standard equipment list was long and included full power accessories, heated seats, cruise control, Monsoon audio system, CTIS tire inflation system, full climate control system, and more.  The Adventure Package added Electronic differential lockers (front & rear), Warn Industrial Series 12 wench, two-piece 17” aluminum wheels with more aggressive off-road tires, privacy glass, and rear cargo load barrier!  The original MSRP on this unit came to about $147, 000 before upgrades and accessories where added!  In the case of this example, nearly $40, 000 in gear and enhancements were contributed to personalize it for the original owner!
Enhancements on this Alpha started with a call to Rubber Duck Hardcore Hummer Accessories for a Stage II 3” suspension lift, larger 41” IROK Super Swapper tires, Tree Hugger front brush guard, enhanced air flow & cooling with hood scoops, hood assist kit with hydraulic lift, new rear step bumper with hitch, Rock Tubes I & II added body protection, full underbody powder coated Ultimate Steel Skid Plates for complete floor & drivetrain protection, billet locking gas caps, LED rear tails lamps, windshield light bar, new accessory switch board and relay box, Centramatic Continuous wheel balancers, rear fender Racs and cargo divider, and interior close out panel! It didn’t stop there as a new high-end Pioneer audio system with touch screen head unit offering GPS navigation & XM radio, enhanced Pioneer speakers that include two under seat subwoofers enclosures, and top-of-the-line Zapco amplifiers to power it all!  For off-roading enthusiasts, the driver will remain in complete communication with two on-board CB radio systems, one analog & one digital.  Topping it all off is a professional software tune from Pacific Performance Engineering (PPE) bringing the Duramax output to 395 horsepower and 690 lb. ft. of torque at power level 3! This $1, 300 software is included and instantly tunable to over 600 horsepower and 1000 lb. ft. of torque all at the owner’s discretion!
Today, this super well cared for example has traveled only 56, 521 miles!
