Up for consideration is this well preserved
2005 Hummer H2 SU
V. What you see here (in these over 60 pictures), is one well kept Hummer. One with only 40, 018 original miles. Taken care of by the Original owner. Yes, one owner and 40, 018 original miles.
You will be hard pressed to find another Hummer H2 in this condition. Please allow your server to upload all the pictures before you decide on whether this SUV is for you. Contemplate driving this beauty with few defects, and in almost pristine condition, save for a couple of bumper scratches, (which I have used arrows to point out in the pictures).
While not a completely perfect automobile, it comes pretty close. I will nonetheless let you know all the problems you would want to know about. . .. .. .. ....
Most of the defects to the SUV is limited to the back bumper, where the H2 towed a trailer, where backing up yielded these small dents. Do not despair, they are small and not too noticeable. Also, the SUV comes with two wireless headphones for the rear passengers to watch the DVD screens in the back, but alas, one is not working. I tried to change the batteries in it, but to not avail. A call to the GM dealer reveals these headphones run about $50.00
That's about it for the defects. You can see that the pictures reveal a beautiful Hummer, with cleanliness throughout. ....almost too good to be true. I swear, when I get in to drive, there is still that new car smell. But please peruse the pics, as they tell the whole story. Hummers are now becoming collectors items. After first being decried as gas hogs (big new trucks by Ford, Dodge and GM now get the same gas mileage as Hummers), H2s are being sought after. (BESIDES, THE H2 DOES GET ABOUT 18 MPG ON THE HIGHWAY)
And one with only 40, 018 miles is rare indeed.
This is from Wikipedia. .. .. ....
The
Hummer H2
is an SUV and SUT that was marketed by GM Corp and built by AM General from 2002 to 2009. It is a large truck: slimmer than the HUMMER H1, while being longer, lighter, and taller, with room for six or seven passengers (including driver). The rearmost part of the H2 SUV was modified to a pickup truck bed for the 2005 H2 SUT (sport utility truck). The Hummer H2 was the only one of the trucks to have the letters HUMMER between the grille.
The H2 was built under contract by AM General at a specially constructed plant in Mishawaka, IN. The H2's final frame assembly is made up of 3 sections: The front uses a modified GM 2500-Series utility frame, the midsection is all new and is completely boxed, and the rear section uses a modified GM 1500-Series frame which is upgraded for the 8, 600 pounds (3, 900 kg) gross vehicle weight.
The H2 was nominated for the North American Truck of the Year award for 2003.
Standard features include air conditioning with tri-zone climate controls, tilt leather-wrapped steering wheel with radio controls, cruise control, leather upholstery, heated front and rear seats, 8-way power front seats, dual memory system, BOSE premium sound system, 6-disc CD changer, outside-temperature indicator, compass, rear radio controls, independent front torsion bar suspension, rear 5-link coil spring suspension specially created for the H2, oversized tires with HUMMER rims, universal garage door opener and remote engine start (2008–2009).
WHO AND WHAT IS AM GENERAL?
In 1992, AM General began production of versions of the Humvee, called the HUMMER for civilian use. Known as the world's most serious 4x4, the vehicle has found favor with commercial users who appreciate the value of HUMMER's long life and amazing performance, and individuals who seek the ultimate in toughness and mobility.
In 1999, AM General incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary, General Engine Products, Inc., (GEP) and constructed a new plant in Franklin, Ohio, to build 6.5-liter diesel engines. GEP supplies service engines to General Motor's Service Parts Operation (SPO), and builds engines for AM General's use, as well as for other customers.
In December 1999, AM General and General Motors Corporation finalized an agreement to jointly pursue product, marketing and distribution opportunities for HUMMER. GM acquired the exclusive ownership of the HUMMER brand name worldwide and the current HUMMER was renamed the HUMMER H1. In 2002, AM General began assembling the HUMMER H2, a new next generation sport utility vehicle designed by GM, at a new factory in Mishawaka. GM now has responsibility for marketing and distributing all HUMMERs.

Except for the 600 units built on 2009, there really was only 7 years that the H2 was built! Many folks add BLING to the Hummer and there is no shortage of things you can add to bring a little flash to this exquisite vehicle. Knowing that there is only 40, 018 miles on this SUV, you can be assured of many years of driving pleasure.
I will try and help you with finding a transport company for your vehicle if you decide to buy. Typically, it runs from $500.00 to $1000.00 depending on your location from California. Please look at the AUTOCHECK rating. ..its quite high. That will show you how nice this SUV is. No accidents with other cars, low mileage, clear title, etc.
Ben Wojdyla of Popular Mechanics wrote in November, 2012 that the Hummer is one of the ten best Collectors Cars. Jay Leno said this to PM magazine way back in 2009. .. .
Despite all the abject scorn and hatred for the Hummer, it has to go on the collectible list. Hummers are languishing on used-car lots. The brand has become the poster boy for bad environmental behavior. But when we're all driving hydrogen cars, someone will say, Look at that thing. What the hell is that? The Hummer will be the '59 Cadillac of 2025. The Hummer went from being very desirable to just being hated. And I think the pendulum will eventually swing back the other way.

. .. .. ..as late as May 2016, Doug DeMuro of Hagertys said this about Hummers. .. .

For most people, it seems that all the scorn about the gas guzzling, in-your-face styling and hulking size is now left to the later Hummer H2, which seems to enjoy roughly the same popularity as commuters who use the exit lane for passing. The original Hummer is a curiosity; it’s a vehicle that’s rarely seen, often discussed and legendary in its size and capability. And that’s one of the reasons why it’s going to be a classic.
There are, of course, other reasons. One is its distinctive design. Most of today’s teenagers – even the rarely spotted and increasingly endangered Car-Obsessed Millennial – probably can’t tell the difference between a Chevelle and a Nova, or an old Alfa and an old Ferrari. But everyone knows the Hummer. And everyone knows that when they see a Hummer, they’re looking at something special, something unique and something that stands out from the norm. Three important characteristics a vehicle needs in order become a classic.
Then there’s the legendary capability. Go online and you can find a video of a Hummer climbing a vertical wall. Really: you have a completely vertical wall, and you have a fairly normal-looking Hummer, and then the Hummer climbs the wall with an ocelot’s dexterity. I’m completely serious.
And then there’s the equipment. Does your car have a system to inflate or deflate the tires at the flip of a switch? The Hummer does. Never mind the fact that it’s notoriously unreliable and impossible to get working properly. It’s there, along with portal axles, inboard brakes, a three-foot-wide hump separating the driver from the passenger – along with some insane numbers for approach and departure angle, ground clearance and maximum water fording depth.
Although I have not memorized these figures, I can promise one thing: the Hummer is fully capable of rolling right over a Chrysler PT Cruiser. I know this because… well, just trust me. I know this.
A little history on the SUV since we have owned it. .. .. .. .. ..Bought in Dec of 2005 from a dealership in San Rafael, CA, I drove the H2 about 10K miles the first year, and then only 30K miles THEN NEXT 10 YEARS! Most all the miles have been freeway/highway miles. Regular oil changes were about the only work done on the SUV, except the first year, where there was a recall on the gear shift lever, which was fixed.
The 2 pictures below show one of the dents in the rear facia plastic (HUMMER). ..I did get a replacement part for this.
