After 12 years and 190, 000 miles, it is time for our G35 to
find a new owner. We are the second owners and have owned the car since 18, 000
miles (it was a lease turn-in). Overall the car is in great shape for a car
this age and is reliable enough for us to take up north to Cottonwood all the
time. I wouldn't hesitate driving this to San Diego tomorrow. We live in East
Mesa and my wife drives to 51st Ave and I10 every day, so we ended up getting a
new plug-in hybrid.
Anyways, here are the details:
Standard G35 specs for the sedan with automatic.
The car is in good condition overall with standard scratches, dings, stains and
marks common with a car of this age and who have had 2 kids back and forth to
school and daycare for 7 years.
The factory radio has been replaced with a
Pioneer DVD headunit and the door speakers have been replaced with Infiniti
Reference 6.5s with component tweeters and active crossovers. There is
also a Rockford 10 sub w/Rockford amp in the trunk. The radio sounds amazing
and it has the option USB/iPhone/iPod hookup in the center console.
The Good:
- New front struts, springs and strut mounts
(2/2015), rear shocks were changed at 150, 000
- Newer battery (03/2014) - a DuraLast Gold
- New MOOG lower ball joints and alignment
(2/2015)
- K&N Airfilter & synthetic oil since we
purchased the car
- Factory NGK spark plugs @ 125, 000
- Coolant flush, new thermostat, belt, idler
pulley and radiator cap @ 150, 000 miles
- Power steering flush, trans flush, differential service @ 150, 000 miles
- Yokohoma 225/50/18 YK580's with 75% of thread
left and certs from Discount Tire
- 18 DragMoto wheels
- Borla Stainless exhaust (sounds like a Nissan
Z without the high-speed drone)
- 350Z VQDE Intake Tube (adds a nice performance
sound under acceleration)
- Remote Starter with unlock/lock/trunk/start
features (2-remotes included and owners manual)
- Recent charcoal in-cabin filter
- ICE COLD A/C! I mean this thing freezes me out
and I'm a big guy...
- No accidents, break-ins, fender-benders, etc.
Clean title and clean history!
The Bad:
- The paint is starting to fade/haze on the
driver side. The white paint hides a lot of it, but it is there. Also, the
clear coat on the polished aluminum part of the wheels is chipping in some
areas. I know these aren't big issues or hard to fix, I just haven't had time
and wanted you to know about it. I did a clay-bar treatment a few years ago and
the car looked like it came off the showroom floor. It could probably use that
and some paste compound to make it look super great again.
- The drivers side seat has a few small tears
from getting in and out (see pic). Nothing major, but there it is...
- The car suffers from the VQ tapered
cylinder issue and goes through about 1-quart of oil every oil change (if
you don't know about this, just Google it).
