International Harvester Scout (1973)
for sale

Price: US $5,000.00

Description:

It has the original IH 304 which was recently rebuilt, and the factory T-18 4 speed. Dana 44 axles with 3.73's and disc brakes up front. More details:
- Brand new Firestone 33x12.5's.
- New Rough Country lift kit
- Edelbrock carb, just rebuilt a few hundred miles ago
- New fuel pump
- New battery
- New Rhino lining on the interior
- Original seats
- Excellent interior overall
- All original wiring, and in good shape
- New MP3 stereo and 4 speakers
- Original hard top included, with the factory interior side panels and headliner, which are all in excellent condition. Hard top has some rust at the rear corner mounting points on both sides. No rust on the top itself however.
- Most of the original vehicle documentation from the factory included, i.e line setting ticket, etc.
Things needed:- Door locks aren't keyed for the ignition key, no key for door locks- Front differential gasket (current seal has a small leak)- Probably needs an alignment - Fuel gauge works intermittently, and then only displays half tank when full- Temperature gauge displays low as well
Almost everything works as it should on this Scout, including the heater, windshield washer, and dash lights have all been gone through to check connections, replace bulbs, holders etc. All factory wiring is there and in good shape, with very few previous modifications.
Like many of these rigs it does have a bit of rust here and there, but compared to most of them it's quite minor. There is no external rust on the body panels or door frames as is typical. Both floor plans have a bit of rust, and in the bed corner by the tailgate there are a few inches where it has gone through the metal. Most of the rust areas have all been wire wheeled, treated with POR 15 and coated with primer and rhino lining. I was planning on repairing it right eventually but alas, other projects are taking priority.
The primary thing it needs as of now is an alignment check, it does wander at highway speeds somewhat, but not too bad and I'm guessing the camber is off from the lift kit. I got used to it and it didn't bother me so I just haven't had it checked yet.
