Up for sale 1960 IH Metro van small body style with AUTOMATIC transmission-- making a rare vehicle much more rare. runs and drives just needs love and new brakes. Clear Idaho title signed.this is the smaller body style, I have had had many of these wonderful vans and decided i'm going to keep only two of them; this van has not been pillaged or pouched, it sits just as i purchased it. Sold as is. Please feel free to ask any questions, not sure if I'm and 'expert' in these vans, but I've worked with them quite a bit over the years; this is the only Automatic i've ever had the chance to own.$500 non refundable deposit required by Paypal within 24 hours, SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY.Located in Austin Texas and would be happy to show.
UPDATE: hi guys-- just wanted to point out a few things behind the driver's seat to the back of the van is 10', its 5.5' wide inside and 6' tall. 120 wheelbase about 7'8 tall.
Also I believe it does not have the split rims which is a really good thing, you can bring them in to any tire shop-- which i can't do on some of my other vans. when i say brakes don't work i mean of major mechanical things that needs addressing-- i don't know if any gauges work, i have owned many of these and I've never purchased one with working gauges-- i always recommend brand new brakes, wiring and gauges-- this is a project vehicle not one that will be cruising down the road just after brakes; those start much much higher-- last i sold in that shape went for 25k thank you
this van actually had a two bids previously, one for 8450 and the winner at 8500-- then the winner defaulted and i decided to hold on to it again, 5500 is less than i paid for it and this one is special again because its an automatic-- really, really hard to find.
if you're looking into one of these Metros-- I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you spend good money on one with a decent body because one full of rust and dent s gets REEEEEAAAAALLLYY expensive to fix properly... so your best bet is get as good of a starter as you can afford, because after the body (on any one you buy)you have a lot of other things-- and maybe you find a van in okay condition but its missing something liiiiike saaayyy.. the manifold, or i rim with the whacky bolt on pattern ---something like that, that ... you just can't get.
thanks for looking! ill keep listing til someone takes it!
