Ultra rare International Scout 800 A Roadster , sport utility vehicle. Only 25, 600 original miles since new. Original Factory condition (with few exceptions) original matching numbers V8 motor and extreme Duty drivetrain. Nevada desert vehicle has straight body with little or no rust. This International Harvester Scout 800 A is a true American Icon vehicle that has all the attributes coveted by the astute car collector, it is a very early example of the 800 A, first year for the new body style, very low production numbers. A lot of those were 4 cylinder 3 speed. This Scout was a special order from the factory with the very best of everything International offered , the biggest V8 offered , twin stick extreme Duty transfer case, 4 Speed extreme Duty transmission with first granny gear, and forth Highway gear, massive front and rear Axel's , dual gas tanks, lots of interior Chrome and more. Scout has been in deep storage as part of a private collection for the past 30 +years and has not been registered since 2003, for safety and comfort it has been fitted with period-correct new seats and new seat belts. Original front seats included. Scout is still set up just the way it's 91 year-old original owner had it. Runs and drives amazingly! As if it was new 25000 miles ago. I have posted additional pictures of the undercarriage and under the hood, to my knowledge the Scout has not had a hard top on it in 25 years. Its original hardtop was stored separately and eventually put on a nother Scout in the collection. There is a hard top included with the scout however it is not very good condition and has never been installed on this scout. I will be posting a picture of this top. Scout has been repainted once by the previous owner and is a factory original red Scout .Original front and rear bumper are not with the Scout they were replaced by the previous owner at his preference. The Scout was ordered new with a radio . The radio is no longer there and there is a cover over the area of the dash where the radio goes. The factory antenna and wire are present. There is an original operator's manual in the glove box. There is no spare tire carrier. The gauges and the lights all work. The wiring is all original and in excellent condition. This car is never been taken apart. Has original brake drums, has 90% original exhaust, the motor is a beast. It starts up on the half a turn on the starter. The temperature gauge runs cool on a 90-degree day of driving. The front and rear axles are Dana 44s 41-11. 3 73 and show no ware
