International Harvester Scout (1977)

Description:

1977 Scout II
In very nice original condition. Just 2 owners since new. This is a great Scout to get in and immediately start enjoying on and off road. It is a good sounding and driving Scout II with all the inherently American build qualities you'd expect from International Harvester. I've listed out details below.
Also with this truck's highly original and unmodified condition you can consider taking it to the next level of restoration and enjoy the rising value of Scouts. Check out the Hagerty valuations on them.
You can contact me via email with questions, ask for more photo links, or send me your phone number if you want a callback about the Scout...
Exterior:
-Repainted over the original Glacier Blue 6772 with a slightly darker blue. It's peeling a little in spots, see right front fender, and on the roof a little too.-Remarkably rust free as this was originally an Arizona Scout, the area in front of the drivers rear wheel is starting to show a few bubbles and the passenger side rain gutter. Please see pics for details.-Chrome front bumper, repainted factory heavy duty bumper in back-Receiver hitch and trailer wiring-Grill in good shape, some wrinkling on the chrome on top-see pic-All glass is good-Rear has tint on it that has kept the interior in good shape, but it's a little too blue in its hue for my taste, might want to redo or simply remove it-All lights working and side markers, with original un-cracked but faded plastic bezels-Original stainless steel trim and IH emblems in place-Factory roof rack-Factory bumper pushbars-Door locks/tailgate locks work-Cab mounts under truck are all solid and rust free
Interior:
-Factory seat upholstery, only one crack developing on the lower edge driver side-see pic-Original dash with A/C-Trans shifter housing is functioning fine but missing the p, r, n, d, 2, 1 selector piece and has a few cracks in it. I'd suggest looking for a new or used replacement at one of the scout vendors.-Early 90's style JVC cassette player works well with nice sounding Boston Acoustics speakers-Perfect headliner-Sun visors in good shape-Top does not appear to have been off the truck-Gauges, Speedo, D/C gauges work. Fuel, temp, oil pressure do not, I assume it's bad grounds or hookups, I haven't tried to fix them-Wipers and washer work-Carpet is discolored right at driver side seat mount the most, see pic, and the lower edge of the seat mount on that side is rusting a little, like something spilled on that side. I'd suggest putting in a new carpet-Spare tire mounted in factory place, original cover included but for smaller tires-Dash is nice and not cracked or faded-Glovebox inner liner is in good shape
Drivetrain/mechanicals:
-Good running 304 motor. No smoke, runs smoothly with nice power.-Engine bay is as it left the factory, cable routing and hook-ups and tubing with nothing removed.-Torqueflight 727 Automatic transmission with recent work done to improve the shifting, also appears to have been rebuilt by previous owner at some time.-4x4 with hi and low transfer case gearing.-Basic steel wheels, plasti-dipped black to freshen them up. 15x8-31x10.5 tires, decent enough tread but should be replaced for highway drives due to age-Rancho 3 spring lift-Rancho shocks-Factory AC works and condenser clicks on, but system needs a recharge.-Brakes are good all around and powerful-Exhaust system good with no leaks or cracks in the system, dual mufflers, exits-Fresh oil change, trans fluid, transfer case gear oil change
