This is a very nice 4X4 survivor. This is NOT a restoration nor a perfect vehicle but if you find a cleaner original unit, I'd like to see it. Purchased new here in Tucson at Desert International in 1976 and sold locally to second owner in 1984. Its never left Tucson. I purchased it earlier this year from the second owner who kept it covered in his carport. Very strong 345 V8 with a slight lifter tap from sitting. This Scout runs and drives and sits on 4 brand new Prodigy P235/75R/15's and its original chrome factory Rallye rims including the spare. You will want to go through it once purchased to ensure its road worthiness. It needed a little love so this is what we did.

Body
- Front lower quarter panel patch from Super Scout Specialists installed at front of rear 1/4 on driver side. Damaged metal removed and patch installed. (see video / pics)
- Tail light cap on passenger side is dented. I have a new OEM cap from Super Scout Specialists that will go with the vehicle. (The end cap pictured is a driver side cap, I have the passenger side cap.)
- There is NO penetrable rust on this vehicle. (please see video / pictures) If you want additional pics of body or undercarriage just ask, nothing to hide here!
- SOLID FLOORS, ROCKERS, QUARTER PANELS, PILLARS, DOORS, COWL AND FENDERS!!
- All glass is good with no cracks.
- The paint and decals are original.
- The tires were the last thing we did so they are brand spanking new. (tires installed Aug.7th, 2015)
Interior
- Seats, door panels and interior are original except for the carpet. The carpet was beyond cleaning (being 39 years old) so it got replaced.
- Installed new shifter indicator plates from Super Scout Specialists.
-Clock is missing. I couldn't find a decent original clock that I liked so I decided to leave it rather than buy a piece of crap.
Mechanical
NEW: battery, spark plugs, dist. cap and rotor, freeze plugs on back of motor leaked so while the trans was out we did a rear main seal, front pump seal and a new shifter cable, transmission serviced, radiator taken out and flushed and serviced by Tucson Radiator, carburetor professionally rebuilt by CFIS here in Tucson, new fuel line on auxiliary tank to fuel switch and from switch to fuel pump, a new electric fuel pump and master cylinder. The aux. tank was flushed but both tanks need to be acid washed. (see video / pics for aux. tank location) We did notice a slight clunk from the front end sometimes when you turn. It doesn't do it all the time, but its there. The transfer case was drained while we had it out and new oil added. AC is all there but no belt and I'm sure it needs serviced.
I think that about covers it. Please view the video as it shows the very few surface rust areas as well as the very original condition of this truck. Please ask any questions, I'll reply promptly. youtu.be/cxPJJhuskh8 < copy and paste video link
