I love this truck more than my Mercedes, but I have too many toys. Here is a great description from the previous owner:
Here you have a completely restored with the body off, engine out and rebuilt show quality scout 80. This scout is a very low serial number with the half cab and bulkhead. Scouts were introduced in 1961 originally intended to be a small pickup for the small family farm. released into production with the 152 ci slant 4 cylinder that is all IH. The motor is exactly half of internationals popular and bulletproof 304 v-8 engine. sharing the same bearings, crank, block and pistons. these little engines were workhorses and built for longevity. this scout has had the body removed completely along with the engine, trans, transfer case and frame blasted , painted, body mounts renewed, sheet metal with any problem areas replaced with new and primed and painted. hours and hours and dollars and dollars have went into the restoration of this scout, $1, 000 into the top alone. It has a 3 speed with the twin stick 4x4 transfercase. all of course are perfect. you will not find any rust areas or body filler in this vehicle anywhere. look closely at the engine compartment , you could eat off any part of it. runs like a singer sewing machine, shifts, stops, without any issue. of course all brakes, lines, hardware are new. it has the original spare tire that can be removed when utilizing the rear seat. i bought the rear seat seperate from the scout so i could include the kids on our summer outings. the seat as you can see is not recovered but could be. it just lifts out to remove. i had the scout completely set up for towing 4 flat behind my motorhome. it has the towbar that pins to the mounts on the front bumper, plug in for your lights to plug into the tow vehicle. the scouts lights become trailer lights then when being towed.
The scout includes a top that has been completely restored at the body shop. the paint just shines! i have included a picture of the top on the scout and as you can see it does not line up perfectly at the window edges. i put topper tape and new weatherstripping on the top and it may be lifting up the back to much causing the gap but can't promise that. all the glass is intact and the rare sliding windows have all new weatherstripping tracks in them as do all the doors and top. you can put the traveltop on these scouts also, so the whole vehicle is enclosed. tires are brand new, and i found the very rare and expensive turbine caps for it. the caps and tires are 15. also included with the scout are the original very hard to find 16 wheels and tires pictured. the rubber is very good on all 4 of these and certainly usable. if you want a scout you can just jump in and go to the local carshow or out for icecream this could be it! you could NEVER buy one of these and fix it to this condition for the money this one will go for! check out the feedback from my previous international sales. all my buyers are 100% satisfied with there vehicles and would buy from me again. please feel free to bid with confidence and send your questions. good luck
