Ground up restoration of a lifetime California Scout purchased originally in rust-free, well cared for condition. Third owner. Purchased in CA summer of 2014. Restoration done by a California-based Scout enthusiast / collector. There are NO rust issues with this truck, inside or out. Body is spectacular (see photo detail). Transmission is T-18 4-speed with 3.55 gearing. Professionally converted to a Throttle Body fuel injection with custom chip from Hamilton. Computer controlled timing, meaning no waiting for warm up - just get in and go. New battery (Oct ‘15), new battery cables, rebuilt kingpin bearings, new tie rods (ends from Scout Madness). New shocks, leaf spring bushings. All new belts and hoses, new heater core. Rebuilt brake master cylinder, all new brake hard and soft lines. Completely rebuilt transfer case and transmission seal with gasket kit. Rebuilt clutch with resurfaced flywheel, new rear main seal. The oil pan gasket is new, as are valve cover gaskets. Both factory gas tanks have been removed and boiled out professionally by radiator specialist. Wheels are clean original chrome (coveted rally style) and tires have just over 1, 000 miles of use. Interior completely redone (front and back bench seats) in Camel vinyl. Windows tinted with 20% tint. All rubber (front windows, doors, back gate) purchased new in 2014 from International and professionally replaced. Full size spare rides on back gate with new cover. A real rarity, the original side mirrors are included and chrome is in amazing shape considering the age (see photo)
The Scout does not have a radio. Wipers don’t work - vacuum system is an easy repair that we have not prioritized. Only one of the gas tanks is plumbed. The Scout has four tanks and all three remaining are clean and can easily be hooked up if desired. Side mirrors need tightening and roof requires repainting.
Delivery is the responsibility of the seller but we can help with recommendations. We had the Scout trucked here from CA, which was very easy to arrange and reasonably priced.
