1988 Isuzu Trooper

Isuzu Trooper (1988)
for sale

Price: US $500.00

Description:

I have for sale a 1988 Isuzu Trooper LS. This vehicle has the potential to be restored if you're open minded. Restoring is what I wanted to do with it, however, I've just got to many projects going now. Wishful thinking at the time. I had a new 1988 Trooper when they came out and I loved that thing. I say this one and I thought...I can fix this thing and I could if I had the time. So, yes perhaps someone else does have the time. It will start and it can be driven, however, I believe if it were me, I'd haul it home. I drive it it around the farm from time to time just to stretch her legs. I enjoy it driving it even though it needs a lot of work. It's definitely due a tune-up and fuel filter change. She runs pretty sluggish but she runs. The tires on it are different from front to back but they are all the same size and have decent tread left. The original wheels are still on it with a little rash on a couple of them. I'm not sure how well they would clean up since there aluminum. The body is in decent shape considering the year and the nature of these vehicles. There is a dent in both driver side doors. There are also a couple of spots where someone tried their hand at body work. The park brake doesn't work and the bake light is on however, it does have brakes. I took all the carpet out when I first got it so all of the seat belts and console have been removed. I still have all of these items but I would bother with the belts because they're so dirty. All the glass is good except the windshield has a scratch from one of the wipers. I do have new wiper blades. All the lights, stereo (not factory), horn, and wipers work. The AC definitely doesn't work. The driver's seat is broken at the frame but repairable. If you have any questions, fire away. Good luck bidding!

“I'm not going to sugar coat it...this trooper is not in the best of shape. However, it is complete, starts, stops and I do drive it around my little farm on occasion. It runs sluggish and is in dire need of a tune-up I'm sure. I bought the trooper straight out at an auction with thoughts of my brother and I possibly fixing it up. Not going to happen. We both just stay to busy. Check out the pictures and see what you think. I have the title in hand. The vehicle is at my farm in Southwest VA and I drove it there. My wife thinks I'm crazy. A couple more things...the drivers seat has been broken down at the frame (repairable). I took all the carpet out because it wasn't helping the smell any. The upholstery needs to be severely cleaned or redone. Overall the body is in decent shape. The tires on it have decent tread. It has got some potential for the right person. Or there always the option of turning it into a rock crawler. Probably want to haul it home. Good luck bidding”
