1970 Jaguar E-type Roadster Presented for sale for the first time since new!
This car was purchased brand new at Snuffy Smith Motor Co in Dallas TX, By Mr. Burley R HornMr.Horn drove the car up until 1973 when subsequently offering it to his son, instead of having to purchase him a new car to drive to college. Pat Horn (Son) of course did not hesitate, as what college student wouldn't want an E-type roadster! and the rest is history.
Pat had many great stories to tell about the good times he had with the car, One of them being when he was driving to austin, and a Lamborghini slowly pulled up next to him, He described cruising at 145mph with ease, neck and neck with the Lamborghini! along with the stories of girlfriends, and other women he attracted while he owned this amazing vehicle of course.
This car has been in Texas its entire life, and has wonderful history, Pat recently decided to sell as he was no longer able to work on the car, thus letting it sit. Still retaining its original Texas License Plates!
Now about the car itself:
This roadster is numbers matching, and also has factory A.C. The car is a restoration project.
The body is amazingly straight and panel gap and fit is amongst the best I've seen in a while, Never Hit, or in any accidents.The interior is obviously going to need work consistent with a car that has been sitting for a lengthly amount of time.The original color is light blue, and shows behind the door panels as well.The floor inserts will need work as they accumulated water. The trailing arm mounts are very solid, the spare tire area is solid, as well as the bonnet hinges.
