1951 Jaguar MKVII

Jaguar MKVII (1951)
for sale

Price: US $200.00

Description:

For sale here is a 1951 Jaguar MK VII...a rally star of the 1950's, a four door sports car and a performance car for the family.
this is the car that the Jaguar XK engine was developed for, and when it was not ready, Jaguar quickly threw together the XK 120 sports car to feature the engine at the Geneva motor show in 1948. it was a massive hit and way ahead of its time. for it's time the MK VII is quite a powerful car with a top speed of over 100MPH.
this is a matching numbers example built by the factory on 26 September 1951. complete with the Double overhead cam, all aluminum hemi head, this example with the rare manual transmission. originally Gunmetal grey with a blue interior!
also featuring a sun roof, ample room for 5 passengers, spats on the rear wheels, and independent front wishbone suspension.the MK VII is a real sports sedan will surprise anyone with elegance and style...and speed too.
this car has lived it's life in the dry California climate and is now ready to start life again. stored for many years the interior is still in good shape.the seats and carpets look great and the wood looks just like the gentlemen club it belongs in.
yes the car has been forgotten for a while and has a few bumps and bruises but is ready to be restored to run vintage rallys with style, tour the country, or a very elegant Sunday driver. please see the photos for condition. .it is as found, albeit cleaned up a bit.
driver's side doors close well, passenger side doors need a bit of alignment. also the trunk lid needs a small repair around the strut that hold it up when open.at some time this was slightly bent. obviously a full restoration would be ideal but, one could also restore the brakes and engine and have a nice cruiser with the good interior.the engine turns but I have not tried to start it.
at the completion of the auction the buyer will have the option to buy the second MK VII body pictured for $1, 000.00 additional.many parts are included on that body as well.
Low reserve...the paint shown around the ID tag is the original colour.
