.The car does not look much different now despite having stood for 12 months, Unfortunately I noticed a tapping noise after filling up l and shortly after I encountered frequent stalling.The engine now locks after 3/4 turn I had several diagnosis from different sources including having a mechanic remove plugs for examination and speculate that the problem is a well known failure of the plastic timing chain tensioner. The nearest Jaguar dealer is several hundred miles from here and I do not have the time or patience for what is involved getting it there, or the expense of possible repairs. This motor is a Ford product and we contacted the local Ford dealer who confirmed that but told us that Jaguar software is not the same as for the Navigator and the car would have to be towed to a jaguar Dealer for accurate diagnosis, The vehicle is immaculate inside and on opening the door you are still overwhelmed with the distinctive brand new smell of a car with Connolly leather interior, This jag was a special order vehicle with the distinctive chrome Jaguar rimsI have owned hundreds of Jaguars in my life but find the S-type to be a true reflection of its fabled ancestor produced in 1966 and envied the world over for it lavish Rolls Royce level accouterments. I am therefor offering the car in as is condition.
