Selling our beloved 2005 Jaguar X type estate, one of only 1600 made over 4 years. I am the original owner. I leased it, then bought it. It is loaded with all the usual Jaguar luxuries plus navigation, rear parking distance warning and Sirius Satellite radio. It has a full and extensive service history of dealer service, until a couple years ago when we lost our closest dealer, and I found a local Jaguar tech. The car has 175k on it, and certainly doesn't look it. Body is straight and has never been wrecked or damaged. A power line dragged across it and the top and front were refinished by a high end shop. Uses no oil, nor does it leak. It has had a rebuilt trans, transfer case, driveshaft, alternator plugs, condenser, battery top end reseal recent pads, rotors and Bilstein shocks, and the gas struts on the lift gate, recent Dunlop tires. A set of mint Jaguar wheels with new Blizzack snows are available separately. All books, papers, records, brochures, and new car window sticker, both keys. Owners manual and all book signed by Sir Stirling Moss himself. Car cruises beautifully and gets 25 mpg at 80+. Comes with spare driver's seat. Emissioned a couple months ago.
Here's the negatives:
It needs both catalytic converters. They're blocked and should be replaced. They aren't cheap. The rear wiper/washer is inop. The outside temperature sensor is dead. Finally, the headlight adjustors are broken. They sell a repair kit, but you have to take the headlights apart to fit them. I had to grind out a rust bubble on one of the rear license plate fasteners. That's it.
Now, I really hate to sell it, but the truth is, I can no longer afford it. DON'T buy it thinking I can drive a Jag for the price of a Toyota! No, you can't. The kitty can be your friend, but it is still a Jaguar, and it will hurt you if you let it. If you can work on it yourself, or have a good wrench, and a parts supply, you can avoid breaking the bank and have a great...and RARE...car in the bargain. But cheap it ain't.
