This is a very well cared for 2001 Vanden Plas model of the famous Jaguar XJ 8 line. It was built when Ford owned the company so forget about all the Jaguar horror stories of yesteryear. This car has never let me down in the 6 years that I have owned and used it. It has been garaged during that whole time and I believe also before that. I purchased it with 41, 207 miles on it and I intended to keep for many more years as it was always my favorite Luxury Sedan. I changed the oil and filter every 5, 000 miles and have only used Mobil 1 oil. I have several other vehicles and it hasn't seen the light of day all that often, 17, 000 miles in 6 years isn't much, but it is a pleasure to drive when I do hit the highway. I have driven round trip to the FL keys a few times and it has gotten 24 MPG each way all times. So I am reluctantly paring down the fleet in order to buy a SUV for my wife now that we have 6 Grandchildren and need more room for them. I just sold 2 of my other cars and got a newer sports car, so she gets a SUV. The interior is very clean with beautiful leather and real wood trim, only the driver's seat has some stitch separation at 1 seam. This was the top of the line in 2001. It is equipped with just about everything: a trunk mounted 6 CD changer, a cassette deck (remember them?) power memory seats, sunroof, garage door opener. Lloyd Mats in front and plush lambs wool mats in the rear. All of the usual items like ABS brakes, 32V 4.0 L V8, cruise control, dash readouts for instant and average MPG etc. As a Vanden Plas it is about 5-6 inches longer which is evident just by looking at the rear doors, It is no just a L model, it also has the Picnic/writing fold out trays mounted to the rear of the front seats. I believe I am the Third owner, the lady owner before me, sold it because she had 2 teenage sons who started playing Lacrosse and she didn't want the sticks in the car, so she bought a SUV. I PUT A NEW DURACELL BATTERY IN IN SEPT 2015. The tires are Bridgestone Ecopia which were installed just a few years ago at 50, 675 miles and are in excellent condition. The spare tire and wheel are new/original equipment and have never been on the car. So that's about it.
