Price: US $200.00
1953 CJ3b Willys Jeep. Good Hood, front fenders, grill, windshield frame, half cab. Tub is OK, but needs a lot of floor work. Tool box bottom almost gone. Needs hat channels underneath as well. Body sits well on mounts, but needs a lot of work to be real good. Rear bed area is nice and solid as are the inner rear fenders. Tailgate needs a new hinge section, which I will include. Engine is real nice and runs out very well. New Solex Carb, fuel pump, mechanical and inline electric fuel pump. Water pump is brand new and the hoses have all been replaced. The radiator was removed and flushed and pressure checked and then painted. I also replaced the head gasket and valve cover gasket and replaced the head bolts with new ones. Torqued correctly. Air filter was cleaned and new oil added. Engine oil replaced and new filter. I will include additional filters with sale. I also replaced the spark plugs. Could use a tappet adjustment. Motor was rebuilt by prior owner within the last couple of hundred miles. But I found a little water in oil, so I went ahead and replaced the head gasket and checked for cracks and everything is fine, just was not torqued correctly and was apparent when I backed out the head bolts. Never use old head bolts. The driveline is very good and solid. The clutch is good and so are the brakes. There was a lot of work done to this Jeep prior to me purchasing it. The brakes were overhauled and wheel cylinders, brake lines and shoes were already replaced. The T-90 tranny shifts nice and smooth as does the Dana 18 transfer case. Clutch is good. axles are good and dry. Has one front locking hub, that has broken bolts, but works. Engine does not smoke at all and starts right up, even in the coldest weather. Idles well and still has a functional hand choke. So your looking at a great starting point for a restore and its a good place to start. The electrical system right now, is just a basic starting circuit, but I am including a brand new, in the box, cloth covered wiring harness. Also, a used windshield and all new seals, both windshield and cowl seals. The battery is a new Megatron Interstate. The plow and little winch will NOT be going in the sale. The Jeep is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. The suspension is in good shape as well and the leaf springs look to be all nice and straight and not ruted out and the shackles are in good shape. The half cab is included and is not ruted through at all. I drive this around the farm all the time. I have several jeeps to restore and just do not have the time to finish this one. I would buy a new tub, sandblast the chassis and paint and this would be done. the mechanical is basically done for you already and is an easy restoration project. I will not ship, or deliver , but will help out the best I can. I can assist with delivery, if local and paid for up front. Not giving it away and I will just keep it a few years more until I catch up with the other two in front of it. These 3b's are getting so much harder to find now and when finished would bring a pretty penny to the owner. Jeep is located in western Massachusetts, 01011.
