82 Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler
Pictures that are indoor, in the garage, were taken today!
Pictures which are outdoors, were taken several years ago. The truck looks like the pictures indoors as of today.
I bought this Jeep 5 years ago and used it as a daily driver. I sent it to a shop to be customized and do a frame off restoration, but never got started with it. I got it back and just spent $2, 000 last week getting it tuned up. The invoice states:
Remove and clean gas tank
Clean and reinstall sending unit
Replace all rubber fuel hose
Flush fuel lines
Replace fuel filter under hood
Rebuild Carb
Install Battery (NEW)
Install rear brake drums
Flush rear Diff
Fill PS pump
Top Off Radiator
I also added brand new seats to it.
I drove the Jeep 45 minutes home the other day. It starts right up and it does run and drive. It appears to be leaking antifreeze, I would replace the brakes and the gas tank seems to go through gas quickly even though it was just serviced.
I really love this car and my dream or doing a frame off restoration is going to have to wait. This is the most exclusive and valuable of all Jeep CJ's. CJ-7's and CJ-5's are much cheaper! This Jeep does NOT come with doors! The hood also has a dent. Its about $100 for a new hood.
Title States 1982. eBay wont accept the VIN as a 1982 so I wrote 1980 in one section. However, this is a 1982!!!
FROM THIS POINT DOWN - is the description that I received when I bought it 5 years ago. Please bear in mind that everything which says New was stated 5 years ago. However, the Jeep had less that a year of use in that time.
Has '79 international 345 v8 w/ tranny, front & rear end.

paint flaking at front fenders,

Swap was done in '97;Taller stance, wider wheelbase, stronger engine. will need a little tlc to be perfect. small oil leak at valve cover & under at engine/tranny.
will need driveshaft to front end for 4x4 to work(priced at $250-$350).
automatic w/ 4x4.
