This Jeep is an absolute beauty. A head turner!! The pictures will show you, but it looks even better in person. You will never find another like it. Allow me to explain that:
I wanted a Jeep 6 years ago, but I did not want one just like everyone else's. So I went to the local junkyard and bought a dent free tub, two doors and a rust free frame...and started this build. I am a former Jet engine mechanic from the US Navy...but that does not make me an auto mechanic...so I paid an ASE certified mechanic to do all of the mechanical work. It runs like it's brand new!! I put what I WANTED in it, including the 4.2L inline 6, a 5 speed manual tranny and BRAND NEW 4.56 gearing in both differentials. I gave it a two inch lift, 32 tires, a heavy duty driveshaft and those GORGEOUS Ion Alloy wheels you see in the pictures.
Then I went to my friend, who sells body shop supplies for Keystone and told him Give me the BEST paint you have, and recommend a painter for me. We worked out a custom color and he sold me paint that cost $215.00 per PINT (enough to do a TRI coat job), the best clear-coat on the market. And if you think that cost me a bundle...you should have seen the painter's bill!! In the end, the paint job on this Jeep is worth $5, 000.00 alone.
Brand new seats, and while I can't prove this, I was guaranteed that the motor itself had around 40K miles on it. When you hear it run...you'll know that to be true. Everything else under the hood I bought NEW. Since I had to rebuild the gearing on the differentials to get my 4.56 ratio, the gearing is also new...as are the brake rotors (I mean, why not at that point, right). If I started listing new parts, right down to the steering box...it would be easier just to send you a tech manual for an 89 Wrangler. If it's on there...it's new!
Imperfections:
1) I bought a brand new hood...and put it on a 25 year old tub. It...ever so slightly...doesn't line up perfectly. You'd almost have to have a magnifying glass to see it...and nobody who isn't looking for it will ever see it...but the gap between the hood and fender is about an eighth of an inch higher on the driver's side.
2) The windshield is old and has a chip in it. You can get a brand new windshield for about 200 bones...but it was the only thing on this beauty that didn't shine...so I left it, to have something with a rugged look on the Jeep.
3) Reverse and 3rd gear grind slightly...until you learn how to drive it and finesse your shifting. It does not effect the way it runs at all, and I liked it because I could make it sound like a Jeep when I wanted to. One would only drop a tranny to put in a new synchronizer, ...if he planned to paint it pink and write barbie on the side. If you buy this Jeep and decide to fix this...please...don't ever tell me about it.
4) In the state of North Carolina, the VIN on the tub is the VIN you title under. Even though NOTHING else on the Jeep has anything to do with that tub (if you run the title number from the tub, it will tell you the jeep has an automatic transmission. It doesn't)...the tub came from a salvage yard and so I have a salvage title. I didn't care, because I never planned to sell this Jeep and it does not effect registration in any way. BUT...lucky you...because if it did not have a salvage title...you'd be paying 15 Grand, instead of $7, 900.
These things are not noticeable. I only mention them because, when you buy online...you can't LOOK at every imperfection yourself, so I want you to feel comfortable in knowing that I left nothing out. If you send me a message and ask...I will give you the number of the mechanic who did all of the work. He can tell you everything I don't remember.
Finally...the answer to the question everyone asks: Why am I selling it? Simple answer: Because I also have a Challenger, and my wife is rolling in a POS Passat on a lease that is about to end. It's not fair for me to have TWO bad a__ vehicles, while she is forced into leasing another Passat. I am going to use the money to put down on something nice, so she can get what she wants. Yes, that is a true story...and one that you can tell your wife when she yells at you for buying this bad a__ Jeep!
It comes WITH the ultraviolet protector cover in the picture, but withOUT the CB radio. In one of the pictures, you will see a bra. I forget the brand name, but it is the expensive one (I did everything top class on this build), but somebody told me that was bad for the paint. That paint job being so expensive, I took the bra off the day after I put it on. It's in the garage and it's brand new...so you can have it too, if you want it...included.
All tolled: because I am already losing my shirt here It cost me 20 grand to build this Jeep)...shipping is on you. You can pick it up, have it shipped to you...whatever you want, but NO SHIPPING is included in the price.
OK, so here's how it works: I wanted to let you pay through paypal...even though they charge me, but ebay won't let you do that. Paypal will only take the deposit. So, you have to send me a cashier's check. I will overnight the Title as soon as I get that. I wanted to use paypal, so you'd feel completely comfortable doing business with me...so, whatever that takes. Call me. Talk to me. Google map my house...whatever you need to do to feel completely safe. If you are coming to pick up the Jeep yourself, then you can just pay me when you get here. If you are going to do that, bring cash or a cashier's check...because I want to feel safe in this transaction too!!My name is Kennedy and my number is (336) 528-2300.
Oh and... if you are going to come and personally pick it up...bring some kind of tag to run on it, because I have to turn mine in for insurance purposes.
Finally: Please understand that...deposits are non-refundable unless it is my fault that the final transaction does not go through (like...if a tree falls on the Jeep before you get here, or something). I am taking it off of the market and paying ebay their 125 bucks once you hit buy it now, so if you don't buy it after I do that...that deposit stays with me. Full payment is due within three days, whether you are coming to get it or sending a shipper...so overnight payment if you are sending a shipper.
Anyway, once I overnight you the title...the Jeep is yours...and you can come pick it up (or send over a shipper) whenever you want. But please try to get it within a week...because I am going to cry every time I walk past it.
