You are bidding on a used 2002 KIA Optima 4-door passenger car. It was the top of the line model back in its prime. The car has a fuel efficient V6 engine that has never given any troubles. Although the car has over 140, 000 miles, the engine oil was serviced regularly, along with the timing chain and water pump. I am not the original owner of the vehicle, and it was purchased from a salvage dealer. The car was involved in a major collision that resulted in the car getting a salvage title. This collision occurred before I purchased the car, and it sustained impact on the right rear corner of the vehicle.
The air conditioning did work, but the R134a has since leaked out. The car has leather seats, but the front driver seat has tears from years of use. The car has Goodyear tires, P195/60/R15 tires that still have some good life remaining. The wheels are factory alloy wheels, but they do not shine as they once did when they were new. The car has four wheel disc brakes, which is always a nice option to have. The car has been very dependable for transportation around town. It has countless door dings from parking lot encounters. The paint is peeling and fading, especially on the hood and roof. The sunroof works nice, and the shade pulls forward and back with ease.
The gas door has a release mechanism that operates from a cable. The original cable broke, and another factory mechanism was purchased. However, I have not repositioned the mechanism back into its original position, so it is simply resting in the trunk. The rear left trunk interior panel is removed and included in the trunk, if you feel ambitious about correctly installing the gas door release mechanism. All the gauges seem to work just fine.
The car has a regular metallic key that works the locks, trunk, and ignition. It also includes the original KIA electronic key that has the door lock and trunk release features, but the key buttons are getting hard too push. The check engine light has been on since I've owned the car, have no idea what that is about.
The factory radio has a CD player and a cassette deck. I imagine the cassette deck works, but I haven't had any cassettes in years! A factory power antenna works too, but the rubber grommet is missing from the antenna.
The windshield has a crack, along with the right side mirror. The cracks do not obscure the view, and the car passes the vehicle inspection in Texas. The transmission works fine in town, but I think the overdrive stopped working. This hasn't been a major issue, but the car runs at lower RPMs on the highway when this is working properly.
It has a donut style spare, but I also included a full size spare that came from a different KIA optima. The original jack and tool are included in the trunk.
This car was driven by my daughter for the past several years, and she has since bought a new car. This is simply a spare vehicle that we no longer need. Being this car is in the dry west Texas desert, major rust problems are not an issue.
The car is located in Odessa, Texas. Payment must be made in full within seven days of sale. People with zero feedback need not waste my time. I will try to answer any questions I can, but the car is sold 'as-is' with NO warranty. I've tried to list all the good and bad features of this car to the best of my knowledge. I would not recommend you drive any high mileage vehicle a long distance, especially with the AC not blowing cold.
