This 2012 Optima SX is as clean as you will find in a used car. It has never been smoked in, no pets, nor has it been in any accidents. The SX has the sport suspension and 2.0L turbo 4 cyl engine. It has had synthetic oil changes every 5K miles since new and all maintenance records are on hand. Fresh oil and filter (Kia filters only since new) change. The only reason we are selling is to go to a small SUV for the passenger capacity and all wheel drive. All options are on this car with the exception of what Kia calls the technology package which was nothing more than an expensive GPS. UVO/Infinity sound system is awesome and allows for bluetooth and USB connectivity as well as hands free phone connections. Full panoramic sun roof. Mileage is at 63, 785 but will increase slightly as it is driven daily.
The body panels are dent free. Only a couple of rock chips in the front bumper area, but they are not readily noticeable as I took care in touching them up. The only cosmetic flaws are a small scuff on the edge of the driver mirror (wife misjudged the mailbox door) and a scuff on one of the wheels. (Wife misjudged the bank drive though). Tires are nearly new with 7500 miles on them. They are Continental Pure Contact radials and provide outstanding ride and handling as well as long life. We've always had rubber mats on top of the factory carpet mats, so the factory mats are literally brand new. Interior is spotless and odor free.
The Optima was known for a steering stick that occurred at highway speeds when gently applying pressure to turn, such as a lane change or wind correction. This car suffered as did most Optimas in the 2012-13 model years. Most dealers had no clue how to correct, and neither did Kia. Our car was one of 10 that was selected to receive a code update for the electric motor driven steering in an attempt to correct the issue. We had the service performed and immediately noticed the problem was gone. Kia will likely issue a service bulletin or recall for this problem as I'm told that the other 9 cars also saw the problem corrected. I do not know if Kia has publicized the fix, but rest assured this car drives like its on rails and has absolutely no wander or sticking in the steering wheel.
Kia Finance has a lien on the title which will be released when the vehicle is sold. Missouri does not hold titles with liens, so we have the title in hand but the buyer will have a short wait for the lien release from Kia.
