I have a 2002 Kia Rio base model (4 door sedan) 1.5L 4 cylinder automatic up for auction. The car has 208, XXX miles on the engine and 76, XXX miles on the transmission.
New parts:
Automatic transmission 76, XXX
Catalytic converter
Exhaust flex pipe
Neutral safety switch
Transmission shift lever
New starter
New crankshaft position sensor
New drive belt
New clock spring and cone (steering wheel-horn, turn signals)
New wiper switch, switched from factory Hi-Med-Low to variable speed
New air filter
Oil and Transmission fluid and filters- New (in the last 3 months)
Bad Parts:
Motor is blown- either dropped a valve and/or busted timing belt
I bought the car 9-2014 and it sat for 9 months due to the transmission being bad, I had the new transmission put in it May 2015 and drove it from the end of May 2014 to beginning of August 2014 but the car won't start now. I was sitting with it in Park and it died, it never restarted. In the time from May 2014 to when it died, I put 2, 000 miles on it and it had a fresh oil change and transmission oil change, so the oil isn't even due to be changed yet, it still have 1, 000 miles left on the oil in it. Has ICE COLD a/c, melt your face off heat. 4 sets of keys (includes the original ones). Has factory front floor mats still in it. Everything works. Check engine light IS ON, but was when I bought it, it's the Mass Air Flow Sensor. All 4 tires are 50-75% left, has a full size spare in the trunk.
