1979 Lancia Zagato.
Up for auction is a beautiful Lancia Zagato. This car is a very original car, and looks to have been well kept over years. The Lancia is basically a rust free car, that seems to have almost all it's original paint, the interior is also original and in very good condition. The car starts easily with no smoke, and is very smooth and quiet. Drives nice, solid suspension, good brakes and shifts well through the gears. The gauges and lights all work, as does the horn and wipers; the digital clock also works. The air conditioning system is complete, but will need service/attention. The rubber bumpers and rubber mouldings/weatherstriping are also in very good condition. The glass, rims and Yokahama tires are in great shape. The car comes with the targa top, boot cover for the drop down convertible top; all are in very good condition with the exception of the rear plastic window that is cloudy. The Alpine radio and power antenna both work, the trunk is original and dry as a bone.
The car does have some normal/expected wear. The leather seats have dried out a somewhat, but some diligent applications of Zymol condtioner/cleaner/leather food will bring them back to great condition. The rear quarter panel around the gas filler has been repainted, no evidence of any accident. .my guess is the paint had gotten discolored because of spilt gas. The only hint of rust is on the bottom of one side of the windshield (see pic). Lastly, the inside drivers door handle broke when I was opening the door; the door still opens from the inside. The doors both lock with the key from the outside.
This car was donated to a charity, and was previously registered in Arizona and has a clean/clear Arizona title. All the smog equipment has been removed from the car, and so it cannot be registered in California in its present configuration.
NOTE: this car is is for sale to out of state buyers only, please make sure of any emission requirements in your state. If you are in California and still want to buy the car; as a dealer we will provide documents that the car will be sold for parts/restoration. Once you get the car ready to be re-registered please note that your newly issued California title will say salvage. .again this is only for California buyers.
The car is sold as-is and as equipped. However, you are welcome to come see and/or have the car inspected before the end of the auction. Payment is due in full within seven days of the end of the sale. California buyers and all in-state sales are subject to sales tax, doc. lic & smog fees. In California, vehicles over ten years old are sold miles 'exempt'. Transportation is the responsibility of the buyer.
