This is a classic vehicle and extremely rare in this part of the world.
Finished in Alveston Red and with only 135, 000 miles on the clock, I recently imported this emblem of quality and class from Britain. It is properly and legally registered with the fine state of Tennessee and has clear ownership title. This is a rare and high quality vehicle developed years ahead of its time and although 28 years of age, remains in fabulous used condition.
The engine is the best engine for the car which is the bomb-proof 2.5 TDi 300 series. The all important cambelt, tensioners and pulleys were renewed by a Land Rover specialist garage in Great Britain prior to import and I insisted upon having the vehicle re-serviced aswell (documentation available).
This is a Turbo Diesel 5 speed Manual, correctly positioned, right hand drive carriage. All 5 tyres are sound and were replaced under 1000 miles ago. They are Michelin, and a concession to the French, annoyingly! A mere 135000 miles grace the clock which is a little beyond warming up for this most robust of engine and chassis. In Great Britain all road legal vehicles require a Ministry of Transport test to establish the roadworthiness and safety of a vehicle, demanded yearly. The checks are very strict and thorough and they will not allow a car on the road without a confirmed pass. This onerous test was completed a mere 2 months ago and no advisories (notice of potential ailments) were recommended! This is almost unheard of with a vehicle over two decades of age and is a testament to the build quality, longevity and maintenance that this cherished 4 x 4 has had lavished upon itself.
Last year this Defender had part of the exhaust replaced, new rear seats, a new hard top, new wiper spindles and chequered plates fitted around the common places. The chassis is very good with no welding and minimal rust. The only thing to mention is the bulkhead has some bubbling and has had a small repair (thumbsize) and then just general wear and tear for a 28 year old Land Rover. As you can see there is a snorkel fitted to the vehicle although presently unconnected.
The interior is well presented with 2 front leather seats and leather seating to fit 4 - 6 people in the rear cabin. The doors lock but are temperamental. An aftermarket Immobiliser was fitted a few years ago which comes with a separate key to protect this head turning, important vehicle, and also a British stereo fitted with CD capability. The dash is original, dont expect luxury, this can easily be spruced up if you'd wish with little effort.
The vehicles original colour was green but resprayed in 2010 to set it apart from the more common green version. As with all Defenders of the 1980s please expect some bubbling around the body, rust and corrosion here and there. This is minor, normal and commensurate with the age of the vehicle but certainly not a problem and certainly nothing to worry about in a country that uses far less salt on their roads than Britain! With the vehicle comes an original Land Rover touch up paint stick, just incase!
The vehicle has just been fitted with a MANTEC swing away rear tyre carrier, and the door has had the checkered place put on so looks the part. Please note this is not a cheap aftermarket part, infact it cost the equivalent of $450 for the carrier plus installation which was another $450 - only the best for this Landy.

A Rover of the Land, established as the backbone of engineering and performance when quality, reliability and prestige were at the forefront of industry expectations. It is clean, serviced, has the appropriate provenance, and is ready for the next decade .So look no further!
