1986 Land Rover Santana 109 Super Defender - Ebay does not recognize European VIN #s. The real VIN is VSELBCMG8AZ101878. I had to select 1981 so that Ebay would accept the VIN.
I have owned this truck for about 18 months. Only selling because I am switching careers and starting my own company. The first 6 months I had this truck it lived lived at our local European Auto shop. I gave them instructions to make this truck a reliable driver and to redo the interior. This Land Rover will be sold with clean and clear MI title. Import from Spain approximately 2 years ago. The powerful turbo diesel motor will cruise on the highway at ~65MPH.

The Land Rover Santana built Series Land Rovers under license in CKD form (Complete Knocked Down kits); essentially parts were shipped over from the Land Rover factory in Solihull and the Land Rovers were built up from this 'kit' at the Santana factory in Spain.
Because of the harsh working lives vehicles lead in these environments, customer feedback on the range meant that Santana were often far more aware of each model's failings than the Land Rover company itself was. This meant that Santana began to engineer its own solutions to common problems into the models it produced and so originality between Santana's models and Land Rover's equivalents – a trend which led to the company's position today. For instance Santana models featured anatomical seats, disc-brakes, turbo diesel engines, taper-leaf springs, parabolic springs.
