Land Rover Defender (1989)

I am very proud to offer this stunning 1989 Land Rover
Defender 110, likely one of the nicest across this side of the pond. I bought
this beauty and had it redone in Europe, I wanted a Defender to be true to its
form so I bought a Right Hand Drive. This vehicle gets me more happy smiles, thumbs up and strangers wanting to do selfish than my 2015 Jaguar F Type Coupe R, which costs double the price of this. My boys love this truck; they want me to
take them to school and ice cream in the “Landie” then in mom’s Cayenne. I am
selling this to make way for another Defender that suits us more for camping.
This Defender has new suspension; the transmission has been refurbished along
with the 3.5L V8 engine (has less than 2000 miles after the rebuild), no hesitations in shifting, no abnormal motor noises, and
just pure bliss. Mechanically and structurally the vehicle is sound. It is
street legal as after importing it the vehicle cleared US Customs and then
North Carolina DMV office gave it approval as well and I have a clean and clear
NC title that you can transfer and register in your home state. In addition to
the drive train being refurbished, I had the vehicle painted in the Land Rover
Monza Red and used the Black Alloy Rims. I also asked for new upholstery to be
done to the truck. While in Europe I asked for an exterior roll cage to be
added, rear ladder and a front brush guard. Once I tagged the truck, I took it
to an audio/video dealer I use for my other cars and had LED off road lights
installed, new winch, backup camera and a blue tooth audio system that connects
to your phone and streams music from there. I did that because I did not want
the truck to be busy with a radio receiver visible, I wanted the inside to look
like a 26-year-old time capsule. This
Land Rover Defender is by far the nicest SUV I have owned and I have had the privilege
of owning a G Wagon and a H1 Hummer along with a current model Cayenne.
Everything works, horn, signals, lights, wipers, it is a very basic truck. These trucks were originally built for farms and they are built to last. I want to be emphatic about this statement so nobody is mislead, this truck looks great, runs great and is sound. But it is not “New”.
There are routine blemishes, areas of minor oxidation, etc. If you want a brand
new truck then your local Land Rover dealer will be happy to sell you a new
Range Rover for $125k, but I wanted a beautiful piece that has new elements but
captures the essence of a 1989 vehicle. Please do not call me to offer me a
trade or “what will it take to buy it now” offers, either have an offer in mind
and ready to discuss or take your time while you deliberate. The value on these
trucks will only go up as production has ceased on them as of 2015, hence why I
have purchased four of these timeless classics. If you have any questions my
cell # is 704-726-1587.
I am having to relist this Defender as it was too high to fit in the buyer's parking garage (it is 85 inches), please make sure you do your due diligence prior to purchasing
