I have had this Defender for about 3 years, great fun and it has been very reliable. I have three children all of whom are at or will soon be at driving age, and I need another auto. .. Sad but true.
The good:
Mechanically very good, gear selection takes a bit to get use to but gears select fine and no noise from the boxEngine is good, very economical. The truck does feel under powered when highway driving, but running around town or suburbs is greatVery capable off road, hi lo box selection is goodI fitted the best available roll cage for the truck (SAFETY DEVICES, look them up). This is not a canvas hoop sets that look like roll cages.Fitted new seats and cubby boxHard top and rear door available, I took them off and fitted the tailgate and bikini top. It took two hours to get the roof off, guessing about three hours to go the other way.Sound proof kit fittedLED and high intensity lights fittedEvery time you drive it you get smiles and waves. ..
The bad:
Paint is a little roughSmall oil leaks here and there, nothing bigSmall tear on dash top panelBikini top is for a D 90 with standard roll cage, fit is OK, some time with a professional trimmer fit would be great.
