Price: US $220.50

Description:

Here I have a excellent little 109 Series 3 land rover. I imported this vehicle, legally with all the proper inspections and documentation, with the intentions of doing a full restoration on it and got some of the way there. Due to a baby on the way and purchasing a new home I am forced to sell my toys. The truck runs great never once has it left me stranded or not started. I drove it daily for a couple months to and from work about 12 miles and around town. With a little love and a couple parts this truck will be perfect for trails, back roads, and around town. Mechanically this truck is flawless cosmetically it is ALMOST there I will do my best to describe it the best that I can and feel free to call me at 805.704.0252 thanks, Ben
ATTENTION !!! The vehicle is a RHD UK model Imported with the proper stamped US Customs paperwork, and UK Title, Check with your local DMV for registration allowances for this vehicle I am NOT responsible for the registering or titling of the vehicle in any way I will be selling as an OHV, this does not mean you cant get it registered or titled It just means that I am not liable for checking on your local rules and regulation. Now thats out of the way lets get to the good stuff:
ENGINE: Diahatsu 2.8 liter turbo diesel, this motor is out of a euro spec Mitsubishi Pajero and I believe the Rocky as well, It is an early 90's mechanical Diesel If you search Mitsubishi Rocky DL50 there are parts are readily available and forums online regarding this motor, In my opinion this motor goes perfectly with the land rover running gear, It pulls like a train and maxes out at about 55-60 No overheating or leak issues very clean swap and a great running engine I also added some heat and sound mat under the hood for looks and function
EXHAUST: 4'' Side swept exhaust custom baffle built and welded by myself, funny thing the emissions on this vehicle are less than a standard gas motor by far the smog tech was amazed, the thing runs EXCELLENT
COOLING: The radiator works as it should with nice clean refreshed fluid, there is also a manual electric cooling fan on the front of the radiator, water pump and hoses are all there and holding water NO LEAKS
TRANSMISSION: shifts smoothly through all four forward gears and reversed this is the robust Synced four speed transmission no whining or popping out of gear Very solid unit some very minor fluid weeping from between the transmission and t case VERY MINOR
TRANSFER CASE 4WD: the t case works properly with 2wd & 4wd High range and 2 & 4wd low range it has front locking hubs all drive gear related to the 4WD works properly and all fluids have been replaced within the last 300 miles
AXLES: very solid units front and rear front is a standard rover axle and the rear is the robust 1 ton Salisbury axle comparable to a Dana 60 NO LEAKS OR WHINING FROM THE GEARS very solid
WHEELS AND TIRES: Standard Steele wheels painted Black with

Michelin re-groovable
G rated XYZ's the tires have a ton of tread left and have some minor sidewall cracking Full sized spare included
FRAME CHASSIS & BULKHEAD: very solid considering its origins, the frame and suspension components are solid the front bulkhead has one spot of rot about the size of a quarter but if left unchecked I would assume it would last another 20-30 years no problem all in all the car has very solid bones
EXTERIOR: The paint is a flat military style green that looks very suiting on this vehicle, there are some very small dings in the bodywork nothing major at all, there is some calcification in the door panels from the door bottoms rusting nothing irreparable
I painted the front bumper, grille, light covers and all diamond plating a nice satin black with clear finish looks very nice see pics for details on discrepancies, I also added the offroad lights to the bumper and wired them into a small fuse block and relay setup that the cooling fan is wired independently to as well, the wiring was a little messy but I've got it sorted out nicely for the upgrades
INTERIOR: The front seats are standard series bucket seats, center console, I've added some nice rubber floor mats the back is fitted with two bench seats that can carry 3 per side, there is also a center front seat if the console is removed
seatbelts for the front three seats only, I installed some aftermarked LED lighting that is wired into the interior light toggle.
COVER: The canvas top is water tight but a little sun faded, a couple of the straps have broken but a local seemstress quoted me about 50$ to fix them all nicely the rear plastic window is rough and there is a hole in it from a jack handle that rolled through it,
the same seamstress said about 100-150 to fix that one not bad if the weather is war I usually just have the rear window rolled up
FLUIDS: all fluids have been drained and renewed in the last 300 miles, I run 15w40 diesel motor oil
All in all this truck is in EXCELLENT driving condition and with a little love would be perfect, My reserve is set far below what I have into it and I am going to miss her greatly, I just want her to go to a good home. MY LOSS YOUR GAIN a great running Old LANDY please call with any question, Ben 805.704.0252
