Land Rover Discovery (1999)
for sale
Price: US $1,900.00
Price: US $1,900.00
Very open to offers, just let me know why you chose your offer.**Truck starter went out this past month which is the reason for the sale (or the connectors on starter need to be cleaned due to the recent rain), I need it to go since I'm not allowed to work on it anymore and I will miss it dearly. The only item not brand new for the charging system is the starter and slowed over time and eventually went so I knew it was the starter exclusively. I could potentially get it towed for the new owner to shop to replace or their home if in the area but assume I will not be able to do so for purposes of the sale. Message me for any details.
-The truck is originally from Simi Valley CA, it has only seen maybe a few snow falls. I need to get rid of it as it really won't be used. I have all receipts and service records to most of the below.
-4WD with high low gear shift option, GREAT for the snow, I have never missed work due to weather. Automatic transmission, strong and one of the best features of this model of land rover.f
-Class 3 integrated tow hitch, tows nicely small/mid size boats, trailers, etc. If you ask for the hitch attachment as part of sale you shall get it in the package, used once. I've towed across the country with this truck.
-Heated seats, passenger one may not be working, truck warms nicely, heated front, rear, blindspot windows windscreen. Seats have wear and rips but are overall usable.
-Passenger side rear door the metal pin popped out and fell in the door, opens from inside only, I can show you the part to order exactly. Never got around to it.
-Aftermarket MP3/ipod hookup to the factory Harmon/Kardon Sound system through stock head unit.
-Speakers are all new including the subwoofers in the rear door. Sound quality is good.
-171k, new spedo blinks 181k since the gauge cluster was bad before and I replaced, now the sourced part doesn't have the same mileage so it blinks the mileage. Not a big deal.
-Brand new ignition system (all coil packs), wires, spark plugs, O2 sensors and NEW fuel pump. You can scratch 20hwy, avg for me on gauge is 17.3 for both. Most old rovers will get 12-13. I have conservative driving habits, very careful with my autos.
-PCV system cleaned completely, breathes well.
-Truck was just fully serviced, new differential and transfer case done with royal purple gear oil, new trans fluid flushed, new royal purple oil change with mobile one larger XL filter
-Aluminum Radiator upgrade to replace land rover's less than adequate build quality on theirs. New Radiator fan upgrade from a range rover.
-Pressure release cap for radiator
-New Alternator from Bosch, not re-manufactured.
-New water pump and radiator fan, new electric fan switch. Old water pump bearing was bad
-New power steering pump
-New steering rods heavy duty rolled steel and new tie rods
-New terra firma shocks/struts with 2in lift possibility if you want to raise up the springs later you can.
-The common front right bearing failure has been replaced, brand new unit so no worries
-The drive shaft recall as been replaced with a heavy duty BPUtah drive shaft with greaseable joints.
-Almost all current discoveries have torn/blown engine mounts so please check any others you are looking at. This one has massive aftermarket heavy duty replacements by Proud Rhino (by Lucky8). you are set and they will not tear ever again. Off road to your content.
-Water pump spray cooling system, not finished but will include in sale. Aftermarket.
-Rear double seat removed and I do not have it, kept the single rear seat in. Helps a ton to haul cargo and reduced gross weight by 400lbs or so. I can help you source one if you want from salvage. Once again for purposes of the sale assume I can not find one.
-Added compass rear view mirror from later models.
-Headliner sagging was replaced with a painted liner, looks o.k. but not perfect.
- I will give you spare fluids I had for the next oil change so you are set!
Abs code on dash for an old sensor, swapped the other side this summer, I have a new sensor sitting in the glove box. Also key is tricky to turn, little trick needed to get it to turn, works just fine (common issue with the tumblers aging).
It has various imperfections cosmetically (Trim pieces, scrapes, and blemishes in various random places from use) but is overall just fine. There is a lot of custom work that previous owner has done, it is not perfect! After this recent bout of storms I noticed my sunroof may still be leaking, I thought about sealing the rear one off too, but decided to leave it up to the new owner. Once you seal it, it really is permanent and I don't want to hinder someone from using it. Going to seal it temporarily.
Disclaimer, I am not a mechanic by trade and I make no claims or warranties on any of the information presented in this advertisement. All vehicles I sell are in AS IS condition and all sales final, should go without saying but you'd be surprised. For no reason will I refund allow the return of the truck (I am moving). If you want to see it message me and you can come check it out before auction close or I can try to give you more pictures.

“Runs and Drives, however, starter has gone out. Will need tow home or replacement at local shop to start.I am sure it is the starter because it would continue to degrade in power turning the flywheel and eventually quit. All other charging system components are brand new and top of the line.” |
