Land Rover Discovery HSE7 (2004)
for sale

Price: US $2,000.00

Description:

So, just me venting first...
Back up on eBay since the buyer changed their mind...through no fault of the Rover...previous buyer had copy of bill of sale and registration, (sent twice via UPS to their house, with tracking numbers to prove...) but didn't want to wait for a copy of the title to be issued, which you can get once the registration is signed over to you...but I'm already getting a replacement title from the State of Connecticut, so no worries...that is why you will see the ONLY negative feedback from the previous buyer on my 10+ years of buying and selling on eBay. I have sold 2 1959 Cadillacs, (1 was a Ghostbusters S&S ambulance!) a 1957 Chevy Nomad (bought and sold through eBay), 2 dune buggies, a VW Karmann Ghia and numerous other items...and not once had I EVER had a problem.

Black 2004 Land Rover HSE7.
The last year of the old body style Discovery!
Got the truck brand new off the lot in Darien, CT and it still has the lion/Darien tire cover on the back spare tire...after 11 years and 162310 miles, I had to get something newer and a little less likely to have issues.
I've used the truck in a few different television shows and movies. It was one of the British vehicles on Ugly Betty's last couple episodes when they were supposedly in London (they were actually in lower Manhattan). One of the bike chases in Premium Rush in midtown Manhattan went right by the truck, and we used it in a couple scenes in an upcoming film with Anne Hathaway and Robert DeNiro, called The Intern (currently in post production). I've also had it driving around the hospital area of the Hamptons of Royal Pains which is actually Oyster Bay Town Hall in Oyster Bay, Long Island.
Issues with the Rover: The rear light brush guards and rear ladder is less than three years old. I replaced them because the black matte was chipping off. Gaskets were replaced at 100, 000, but that was 62, 000 miles ago... The front brush guard should probably be replaced, but it is still on the truck. The front driver tire has a slow leak and for some reason she has been going through coolant. I know the catalytic also needs replacing.
It has the rear jump seats so you can throw even more people in the back! ...seats 7...(hence the 7 in HSE7) I worked on a show off-Broadway 2 years ago, and had the producers, the actors, myself and my girlfriend in it and we still (somehow) got our gear in.
If I had the time and money to go through and find out what was wrong with her, I'd keep and fix her up. It is an amazingly comfortable ride...and the tires have less than 5, 000 miles on them...Hank Mays in Norwalk replaced them.
I'm gonna miss the truck, but it is time to let someone else see if they can work out all her kinks.
I have the registration I can sign over, as well as a Connecticut Bill of Sale, but she does need some work. I'm getting a replacement title from the State of Connecticut, since I haven't seen that paper since 2006!...but it is a free and clear title...you can pull up the carfax report on her, and see that she is clean.
The pictures are from May 29, 2015, from my Canon digital Rebel XTI SLR, and are high-resolution...so if you want original pics so you can zoom in, I'll be happy to dropbox them or e-mail them.
The Rover also has an integrated Class 3 trailer hitch receiver, and I have a new wiring attachment for the truck. I'll put the receiver bar and ball in the back of the Rover.
It has a 6-disc multi-changer, with the magazine under the passenger seat.
The DVD player has two headsets for the back occupants...The headsets need new batteries, but the DVD player will broadcast to three different FM stations if you want to have the sound all around in the truck.
If she doesn't sell this time, I may just put her in the garage and wait until I get a large paycheck, hit powerball or get a friend who really likes to tinker with Rovers...
We have the house on the market where she is in the driveway, so she can't really stay here too long, but a month is probably tops. I would flatbed her to her new home, the coolant issue makes me hesitant to drive her any distance...
Her auto-check score is an 84! Most 2004 Rovers score between 51-70... Don't believe me? Check the report by clicking the inspection from eBay. . :-)
You can message me if you want to know more about the Rover.
Thanks.
