1982 88 Series 3 7 seat station wagon. Often called a Safari Station Wagon, although Land Rover never used that name. It has the tropical roof with the vents and the jump seats in the back. Now powered by a 2.5 longblock with 2k miles on it. I imported it from England several years ago, have replace the front and rear chassis sections, installed ExMoD 24 spline front axle with 11 inch brakes. Just as you see it in the pictures, it has a genuine Camel Trophy style brush guard, Brownchurch roof rack, Warn 8k winch, 235-85/16 BFG AT on Discovery wheels. We replaced the lower floor panels, heavily dynomatted the floor and seatbox. Also has the ExMoor style floor mat for the passenger area including the seatbox. We also had custom rubber mats cut for the rear area including the wheel wells, all to minimise the noise and improve the cabin comfort. New door padded door trim panels. This is a Rover you can have a conversation in while driving up the road. Heater works too!. Also has a rear fog lamp, rear reverse/work lamp, headlamp warning buzzer, good seats all around. We repaired the pillar posts, left side just needed a patch, the left side got the full repair panel. Bulkhead had already been repaired under the widescreen area. The spare is mounted in traditional Land Rover style and a fuel can is on the back door. The original rear step is there too. Class three hitch/recovery mount is bolted directly through the cross member. There are lock out hubs front and rear to permit flat towing, no trailer needed. This is how I have been going to events for years. A-frame towbar is included and quick connect to the custom made front bumper. Bumper/winch mount is bolted solidly through the chassis, not just the ends of the frame horns. Winch works, it has had some moderate use, recent new solenoid pack.Negatives are the small nicks/blisters in the bottom of the door skins. Various dents from off-road. This was not abused, but never intended to be a showboat. I never painted it because liked the patina. Get in and go, no worries. I am selling because of arthritis bothers my legs and shoulders. The original 2.25 engines did not have a vacuum pump. This now has the booster on the master cylinder, and the vacuum tank. I have a new Isuzu truck combination alternator and vacuum pump with could be had for a reasonable price seperately. Haven't had time to install. I have the parts to install GM external power steering. This also can be bought seperately at a very reasonable price. I encourage anyone to come and look in person, drive it around.
