Description:

Up for Auction is a Stunning Original 1960 Land Rover Series 2 (II)In clean original condition it has been well maintained and shows beautifully. Stored indoors and has not been driven on wet roads or in the winter.
Fitted with Free Wheeling Hubs, offering reduced wear and increased fuel economy over standard. This is an early example, being a Series 2 variant - not to be confused with the more common 2a. 141 0 02546 is a Series 2, 88” petrol, 1960 build, car number 2546.
241 02546a is a Series2A, 88” petrol, 2546th built since start of IIa production
As such it has the various early features that sets it aside from its later cousin - all nice to see. On the inside of this versatile removable hard top configuration, there are three deluxe seats across the front - the rear has a load mat, but seats and belts can be fitted, should passengers, rather than cargo, be needed. Seat upholstery still looks new and may have been replaced by a previous owner.A newer stereo and speakers were recently addedExternally, there is a towbar with electrics, free wheeling hubs and, as the photos show, the general look of the vehicle is quite easy on the eye. .it sports an early, shallow razor bonnet and correct grill adding to the period charm. Rust free, floors and frame.
Out on the road, the driving experience is as pleasant as one would associate with a 55 year old vehicle, and the engine is pleasantly sweet. Starting instantly and running well. The transmission and 4x4 works exactly as it should. In summary then, this is, in my opinion, a great looking vehicle - and an early and much rarer Series 2. It would look good on any drive, and should be an ideal runaround - unstoppable in winter, and very cool in the Summer months for trundling around on balmy days! Collectible and increasing in value, enjoy this stunning Land Rover.
The Land-Rover Series 2 was unveiled to the world’s press on 16th April 1958. This Land-Rover differed from its predecessor noticeably as the Rover stylists had added a curved styling feature to the body side breaking up the previous slab-sided look. Modesty side sill panels had also been added to hide the chassis, in all creating a more styled and finished look to the vehicle. The are many more differences between Series 2’s and the other Land Rovers, if you find a Series 2 in original condition restore it sympathetically as unmodified Series 2s are becoming extremely rare.
I will import/export this car from Canada to the U.S. (Buffalo) for any American buyers at my cost. I can also assist with shipping anywhere in the world.
