There are scratches around the Vehicle The interior is clean but needs work on the ceiling, the sun roof works but with little defect there is a small leak from the oil pan The dealership asked me not to worry about it for now as it is very small and not from the engine. The Demobilizer on the staring columm is defective. that is the key send a message to the steering column and that is what unlocks the column but stop working and the key will not turn. when I did my research, You can either change the steering column which very expensive or get one from the junk yard which you are not sure of I saw one for 850 but I am not sure. The work around is to remove and re insert fuse #18 that will reset it and it will work so to avoid that I run a switch to fuse #18 so all I do is switch off and on when I stop the car and it works perfectly well. The SL ECU controls both the locking of the column, and the ignition switch. If the column lock/unlock motors cannot do their job correctly, it faults, and will not unlock the ign. switch. The ignition switch is also commanded unlocked when the remote is used to unlock the vehicle, which is why resetting power to it will give you one cycle.
There was recently a member here who wired up a switch to cycle power to the SL ECU, to be able to reset power to it without pulling the fuse.
A used column will work, if you can find one in good condition.
