In 2006, Lexus released a completely redesigned luxury sport sedan, the GS 300. Outside, taut surfaces and defined creases, combined with a long sloping roofline and very short deck created a pronounced fastback effect. Inside, fine materials, tasteful design and an impeccable Lexus touch where, and are, present.
This Lexus GS 300 is a midsize four-door luxury sedan. Luxury touches include dual-zone automatic climate control, a power tilt and telescoping steering wheel, 10-way power front seats, auto-dimming mirrors and an in-dash 6-disc CD changer. It has an impressive-sounding Mark Levinson audio system. Other notable options include a navigation system, a moon roof, heated & cooled ventilated front seats and a rearview camera parking assist system.
The GS 300 uses a 3.0-liter light-alloy, 24-valve double-overhead-cam V6 engine that develops 245 horsepower. For improved efficiency, the engine features direct fuel injection and a variable valve timing system, which adjusts both intake and exhaust cams. The V6 benefits from a smooth-shifting six-speed automatic. To take advantage of the transmission's six forward gears, the GS 300 features manual-style up-shift and downshift controls in addition to the standard drive settings. With all-wheel drive this 2006 Lexus GS 300 provides crisp performance in a well refined, yet “edgy”, package.
Safety equipment includes front seat-mounted side airbags, full-length head curtain airbags, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with Brake-Assist, traction control and stability control.
The Lexus GS 300 has a roomy cabin that provides the driver and front passenger with space to stretch out.
