1999 Lexus LS400 V8 sedan with only 104K miles, recently serviced, runs great!This is a 1999 Lexus LS400 with original 103, 950 miles - the 1st owner in Palm Springs barely drove it for 8 years until they got into an accident in 2006 (w/24K miles). I bought it in Jan. 2011 (3rd registered owner) with 51, 000 miles and took good care of it since then. Current registration (until Mar. 2016), Carfax report and CA salvage title in hand. All major services are done - I have records of most maintenance done from the years I've owned it.
A lot of important mechanical work was completed few years ago:
- Timing Belt and Water Pump in 2013
- Alternator & Valve cover gaskets
- Front strut rod bushings & wheel bearings
- Fuel Filter, Hoses & Drive belts
More recent work:
- New Brakes pads and Rotors (front and rear)
- New Interstate Battery - 42 months warranty
- New front and rear shocks
- Cabin air filters & K&N air filter
- Replaced transmission oil & filter again (Amsoil Signature Series synthetic ATF)
This month:
- Coolant, Brake fluid & Power Steering fluid replaced
- Alignment done, 8 new NGK spark plugs
- Engine oil and filter replaced (Amsoil Signature Series full synthetic, Amsoil's highest quality oil & filter, good for 1 year or 15, 000 miles).
- Tires are in great shape (@60%).
Engine is strong (290 HP, 300 ft-lbs of torque), 5 speed transmission is smooth. No oil leaks, I never had check engine lights on or mechanical breakdowns. As a result of premium synthetic fluids in engine & transmission, it delivers amazing fuel economy - averaging 31+ mpg (@ 70 MPH), 35+ mpg at 55-60 mph, 20+ MPG in the city - which is truly amazing for a powerful 3900 pound luxury sedan!!
Comes with these amenities and options, all in great working condition: power windows/doors/seats, sunroof, cruise control, Lexus premium sound system, 6-CD changer, AM/FM radio and tape player with adapter to connect your phone or I-pod to, VSC, full size Michelin spare tire, and an emergency medical kit. All electronics work well, as well as AC & heating. Grey leather interior in great condition - no rips or tears! This is a non smoking car, no pets either.
A very reliable, powerful and comfortable family sedan: not perfect cosmetically, but in great mechanical condition, which is what I invested a lot of money in! I completed all major services recently, so it won't need anything for a while. I'm including $150 worth of Amsoil filters and oil for the next few oil changes.
The bad: there are minor scratches throughout the car (no dents), some cracks on the front bumper (from an accident caused by first owner), driver door was repainted couple years ago (due to vandalism) and the new paint doesn't exactly match the original paint color. There is a little noise from right rear suspension at u-turns/slow speeds, it goes away at normal speeds, it's not shocks, which were replaced, haven't diagnosed if its the bushings or wheel bearings as the only front ones were replaced earlier.
Please keep in mind that no used (16 year old) vehicle is perfect, so expect some cosmetic wear and tear. Please email me if you would like me to send you more pictures.
