I have included pictures of the display board ( for car shows) explaining the competition history of the Lincoln Factory team 1953 Lincoln Capri during the La Carrera Panamericana road race that lincoln Dominated in 1953.
Lincolns of this Vintage are extremely rare, and hard to find in this condition. Most have been modified, customized or are unrestorable.
This particular Lincoln is completely stock, with the exception of the Electric Fuel pump.
This survivor has been resting in a barn since 1974 and was last driven in 1991 , before i purchased it and bought it back to running condition.
The following have been replaced or repaired.
1. Rebuilt Power steering booster
2.New battery
3. Rebuilt Gas tank
4. Rebuilt Starter motor
5. All new Brakes, including wheel cylinders
6 Rebuilt Carburetor 4 Barrell
7. New Wide whit wall ties
8. New NOS Ignition switch
9. New Muffler and exhaust pipes
10 New Front end bushings
11. New Fuel pump ( Electric)
12. New Voltage regulator
13. New hoses and Belts
14. Rebuilt Radiator and new thermostat
I have books, receipts, and a framed picture of the car when it was new. The oil change stickers are still on the car door verifying the miles.
A few minor things like the interior lights , power antenna, radio, are inoperative and need attention .
Also the original trunk mat is from 1953. Impossible to duplicate !!!

| “This unmolested 1953 Lincoln Capri Hardtop has the original paint, the original Leather interior, the original motor , transmission, and everything else that was on the car in 1953.The only items that are not, are the Electric Fuel pump and the new wide white wall tires. The original paint is thin in some spots, and it has a small rust spot in the right rear quarter panel, about the size of a dime. The car has 67,000 original miles, has all new brakes, rebuilt Power Brake Booster, rebuilt Original carburetor, rebuilt gas tank, rebuilt radiator, new NOS thermostat,new Fuel pump, new front end bushings,new muffler, new exhaust and more. It even has the original herringbone cloth trunk mat, and one of the original Firestone wide white wall tires.Power windows, Power seats, power steering and power brakes, in great condition, and work well.This car runs great and draws a LOT of attention. These cars were hot Rods of their day, and are extremely rare. Very few still exist.” |
