In the 1960's the Lincoln Division was determined to make the finest mass-produced domestic automobiles of its time. The flagship model Continental was the pinnacle of these efforts and a design and sales success right from the start. The most recognized feature of the Continental was the rear-hinged suicide doors last seen in 1951 Lincolns. The decision to reintroduce the rear-hinged was based on preserving rear-seat access and turned out to be one of the most popular features to this luxury vehicle. Built originally in Wixom, Michigan this 1966 Lincoln Continental convertible is not a restored classic, but an exceptionally well cared for and maintained original survivor. The 462 cubic inch V8 is whisper quiet and its Select-Shift Cruise-O-Matic transmission is smooth as silk and effortlessly moves its 5000+lbs with authority. In addition to the normal Lincoln appointments this convertible with power activated top is loaded with optional equipment like air conditioning, leather interior, power windows, power seat, power locks, power trunk and tilt steering.
