Well, the divorce is final and now the payout starts. I need you to help me by purchasing this beautiful automobile. A 1976 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL TOWN CAR. It has a bit over 36000 original miles. I am the second owner, got from son of original owner, still in father's name. I would not be selling, but have no choice. It is this or the Harley, and I ain't getting rid of the Harley! SOOO, here it is. I have recently had the Carb PROFESSIONALLY rebuilt, a new heater core, (it was not leaking, just being proactive since car sat for years with older antifreeze in it!), and a new fuel pump installed, as well as a new a/c compressor. A/c worked great most of the summer, but evidently, there is a leak somewhere. A small detail. If you buy it, I will have it charged for your trip. 8 track tape player, all power windows, locks, trunk, antennae, EVEN THE ORIGINAL CARTIER CLOCK, etc. works. I can't take car out without getting comments at the stoplights, car wash, gas station, where ever! It has the rare extra fuel tank option. It is a 8 gallon box in the trunk. This car was made for long cruising in comfort. Not a speed demon at 200 hp trying to move over 2 1/2 tons, but enough to cruise all day at 70 mph. Problems: Though landau leather top is still fairly soft to the touch(see pic), it is starting to get small cracks around rear window. The paint is very presentable, but there are a few small door dings, and a small spot or two of rust on the edge of the roof trim. Lastly, there is a shimmy between about 60 and 70. I think the tires have flat spots from sitting for so long. All very minor. It IS 40 years old AFTER ALL!! THIS IS AN ORIGINAL SOUTHWEST CAR, still IN CA DESERT, SO UNDERCARRIAGE IS SPOTLESS CLEAN, AS IS ENGINE, EXCEPT that I have been using it as a daily driver for about a month just to make sure there are no other issues. Could use a detail job. I have entered car in shows, (took third in originality, great considering the competition in SO CAL!!), and it is registered with 2 different movie rental companies where I have rented it out twice, though I have never seen it on the screen! This is a classic car, and a great driver. 2-3 pops on the pedal and it starts right up, hot cold, it doesn't matter. Good luck.
