1961 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL. I bought this car in 1998, I am the third owner of the car. I bought it from the son who was given the car by his father who bought it in San Francisco, it has stayed a California car. I had the engine completely rebuilt in 1999 by Chris Braun of Braun's Automative. The original block was overhauled and used. The odometer currently reads 9583 and since the engine overhaul, the car has probably 1500 miles on it. It has been stored in the garage since I bought the car in '98. This car is turn-key, starts right up in hot or cold and runs and drives like new. The transmission was also completely overhauled by Torrance Transmission and shifts great.I recently had the top system redone, new lifters, pumps, cylinders, these were done by Curtis Fouts at 60's Lincoln Repair. The paint is original and has upheld extremely well over the years, there are a few chips out of the paint in places and some wear on the passenger door from time, I tried to show these in the photos, but the character comes out of the car with these. The paint is in great shape., a few spots towards the bottom of the passenger doors where there is some little bubbles. These were there when I bought the car and have not gotten worse over the years. The color is the original platinum, although it does look white in certain conditions. I had the interior and rugs redone to original black, the black top was also done at the same time. A new plastic window is needed for the top due to the haze that has covered most of it. The front and rear passenger doors both have new window motors in them. The car has A/C and heat that was redone in 2001. All of the gauges work except the clock is temperamental and works from time to time. It's fully loaded with cruise control but the unit was never in the car since I've had it. The car was bought fully loaded. The mufflers and exhaust pipes were redone in 2001. I replace the original 14 wheels with 15 but still have the original wheels that will be going with the car. The chrome trim is in great shape, a few small dings here and there but no rust, the bumpers are straight and in good shape, a few spots on the bottom of the front bumper. I'm including a spare hood that I had picked up somewhere, if ever needed it would need to be redone but it is completely straight. I also have a new trunk liner kit that I never got around to installing that I'm also including. I'm also including the original shop manuals and top manual.
