1987 Lincoln Continental

Lincoln Continental (1987)
for sale

Price: US $200.00

Description:

Up for sale today is a very nice 1987 Lincoln Continental. I purchased this car out of an estate last year and yes it was owned by a little old lady who only drove it to Church and the grocery store when the sun was shining. I have a TON of paperwork for this car with inspection results and a bunch of receipts for service work……many done at the Lincoln dealer! (inspection receipts show the car driven less than 500 miles per year over the last 5+ years)
This car was owned by Ms. Atherson who passed away in early 2014. She was 83 years old and I have the obituary and color copy of the original title that I received that shows the actual mileage on the car that will be given to the new owner. I purchased the car off of the estate and what a nice car it was…….with the exception that the car did not have a working overdrive (now it has a fresh rebuilt AOD).
This car is in very nice shape, has some light scratches and maybe a dent here and there but it is very nice. Most noticeable flaw on the body is the fact that the right side doors and quarter panel were repainted at some time from the pinstripe down. Some of the clear coat on the quarter panel is starting to flake off (can be seen in photo) but the car still looks great. The chrome looks good, some scratches here and there, moldings have some dings and the interior is mint.
All the power options work on the car with the exception of one of the rear windows does not work (believe it’s the motor and can’t remember which side it is right now). The radio, climate control, power seats, power antenna, automatic lights etc. all work on the car. The A/C blows ice cold and the heater core has been bypassed (that’s the way I bought it).
This car runs and drives amazing! The car absolutely floats down the road and goes as straight as an arrow. The 5.0 purrs and the AOD transmission shifts perfect (still under warranty with Continental Transmission for 11, 000 more miles or 6 more months). The tires are all with more than 75% of tread remaining and the brakes are nice and smooth also.
Some of the repairs within the last 2000 miles include:
New Battery $166
New Transmission $1000
New Radiator and Hoses $487 (will leak a little but when I sits for some time, think either the bottom hose needs to have the clamp tightened or the weep hole may be leaking on the water pump)
MAP Sensor/Full Tune Up $556
Air Ride/Bulbs/Misc $614
Exhaust System from Cats back $190
Front Suspension Coil Conversion $130 (rear is still air ride and A/R light is on in the upper console that displays the compass and temp due to this, I think I have the instruction to shut it off plus the original air bags are included with the car if you want to return the car to original)
This equates to over $3000 in documented receipts within the last 2, 000 miles!!
If you are looking for a great driver or even a good car for cruise nights (yes I have taken it and it gets more looks than the Mustangs because you just don’t see these cars) then this is your car. This car is a nice car but please do not think it is perfect because it is not. The car is very rust free, door hems, underneath etc. and it is very presentable. I encourage anyone who is interested in the car to come view it prior to bidding and please understand that this car is being sold AS-IS. I am only selling this car because the kids wanted a convertible so I just picked up a Mustang Convertible so this one must go (I have a old T-Bird, LTD, F-150 plus the wife and my daily drivers so no more room).
I know that I have probably forgotten something so feel free to email me with questions and I will do my best to answer them quickly. All shipping arrangements must be made by the buyer but I am more than willing to assist however possible with your shipping arrangements.
Own a piece of Lincoln History and be the only one cruising around your town in one of these cars!
