Up for auction is a 1980 Lincoln mark VI sedan that I have owned for a few years, in that time I have put about 100 miles on it. I sold 5 cars last year and still have 20 left. This is a 64, 000 mile original garaged car , with a 5.8 v8 engine that starts right up , it runs and shifts shoothly .it wears most of its original paint , hood , roof and trunk are original and the sides have only had touch ups sprayed in long ago, the touch up work is driver door under pinstripe , driver rear door under pinstripe, passenger door under pinstripe , and the touch up work has light crazing, original paint looks much better. all pinstripe is original , vinyl top is original and still soft and free of any cracking, chrome is very nice, body has a few rust areas though. there is very minor rust under 3 of the doors but it is a bit more serious under the passenger front door , and I bought an extra door so that when the car is one day restored it can be replaced. I replaced the right front plastic extension and the paint wasn't a perfect match so I decided not to replace the front door at that time, as I didn't want to repaint the whole passenger side. there is some rust creeping out from around the rear reflectors, and a dot around the vinyl top molding. There is scaling under car but frame and floors are solid. All power windows and locks work, sunroof works and does not leak, antenna works, 8 track player works and there are a few tapes in the glove box from the former owner. Door panels are not cracked and dash is almost perfect just a little deterioration around speaker grills. Headlight doors will creep open after sitting for a period of time. I have had the carburetor rebuilt, shocks replaced a few months ago, rear are air adjustable, tires are fairly new, rear main engine seal replaced as well as pan gasket replaced, stabilizer links replaced, exhaust system is new, A/c was used a week ago and blew fairly cold! solenoid, ignition coil and battery have been done recently, as well as the starter. I also added an automatic dimming mirror with compass. I went over the car mechanically to make it reliable and safe to drive , but cant guarantee a cross country trip.
