So, where else are you buying your clean, low-mileage, collectable Lincolns anyway? If you follow my Ebay auctions regularly you know I’ve been able to offer many clean, unique Lincolns here over the past decade and this one really fits the bill! Finding a classy Mark IV with a great original leather interior AND a rare moonroof is a real treat! I love the way the past owner rodded up the exterior by flat-blacking the hood/roof/trunk and this thing gets up and goes! Please contact me directly with any questions. My name is
Mark Thompson
and I can be reached at
206/914-1173
. You’re welcome and encouraged to stop by my Auburn, WA warehouse to test drive the car.

Ever spend an afternoon driving a classy, vintage Lincoln? What a treat! Smooth is the word for sure. Smooth powerful acceleration. Smooth handling in the curves or on the highway. Comfort, styling, and versatility all in one gorgeous ride. For my money, the Mark series Coupes from the seventies are the best value for the overall driving experience that Lincoln offered. Look over my photos and I’m sure you’ll agree. “Time capsule” is a good adjective for this car and sets the stage for describing it's overall provenance. All the glass is fine. Climb over, under and throughout the car - I know you’ll come up smiling! You’re
NOT
going to find body rust in the typical areas where it appears on rigs from other parts of the country. Yes, the Puget Sound region is famous for rain, but our winter roads are rarely salted. At most, we’ll only have one or two light snow days a year. Everyone panics and stays home!
Mechanically the Mark IV seems quite strong. Our mechanic did a full tune-up last week just to be sure everything was in order and even after sitting in my warehouse for a few days it NEVER fails to start right up with the first few cranks, even when cold. You just can’t beat the great 460 CID motors in these mid-70’s coupes! The C-6 automatic three-speed transmission shifts great and we all know how strong Ford/Lincoln rear ends are! The brakes feel just fine to me, too. All four factory wheels are straight & true with good 235/75R15 touring radials having at least 60-70% rubber remaining. I’ve spent several days cruising the freeway and can’t find fault with the way this ol’ Lincoln runs or drives out.
My interior photos clearly show the great condition of the original leather upholstery front and back. I find no tears or wear-through spots. You’ll also be impressed with the condition of the dash panel and gauges. They’re still clear and bright as the day this rig left the Wixom plant on a fall afternoon over 42 years ago! The ashtray’s never seen a cigarette! Even the vacuum powered headlight doors open and shut properly! The carpets are clean, original and unfaded. The factory Ford Philco AM-FM/cassette stereo blasts out tunes loud and clear. No problems with the power antennae either! When it arrives at the next caretakers home the original owner's manual, sunroof instructions and stereo operating booklet will be stowed in the glove compartment. Though I’ve only found a few things, I always try to point out any negatives we come across. The AC system switches on just fine and has a good compressor but could use a recharge to blow colder. The top-of-the-line Landau option included a very large glass moonroof. Ours is clear & leak-free but the operating switch seems bad as it opens electrically but needs to be hand cranked close. I’d plan on straightening or replacing the pressboard sail panels around the interior of the opera windows and there’s a small length of stitching loose on the headliner. To really make the exterior really nice, the silver should be resprayed as it is still in original factory paint. As pictured, areas on the driver’s side fenders and door are a bit flakey from age (no rust anywhere though!). The flat black sections are great. The passenger’s door opens from the inside only and the window goes up and down manually, but doesn’t respond to the door switch. The driver’s window operates fine as do all switch positions for the driver’s power seat. Finally, while I rather like the throaty burble of the exhaust and would leave it as-is for now, replacing the rear muffler might be required in another state as it's old and has worn.
I’ve no problem encouraging bidders to do what many of our previous buyers from as far away as Alaska, California, the east coast, Canada and even the Mexican Baja have done – fly in here to the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport just a few miles from my vehicle storage warehouse. I’m happy to pick you up and you can begin the drive home the same day!
