Reluctantly offering my beloved 1986 Lotus Turbo Esprit HCI for sale. Recent back problems make getting in and out of this car very difficult, otherwise I would not be listing it here. Low mileage, 3 owner (including myself) vehicle. Sold new in NJ, then the original owner sold it locally a year later. I purchased it from the second owner, 25 years later. This Lotus has never been advertised for sale; at least not since 1988. The Certificate of Provenance from the factory states this was the only car produced in Glacier Blue with Silver Leather out of 163 cars built in 1986. Starts, Runs, Drives as expected. Oil pressure and temps are right where wanted. Everything works as it should with 2 exceptions: The A/C is disconnected, and occasionally the headlights don't want to go up. This is usually remedied by wiggling the relays. Driver's seat has 3 splits, and passenger seat has 1. I think the passenger seat is an easy fix as the split is on a side seam, and only about 3 long. All glass, chrome, wheels, and trim look nice. Clear title in hand, is in my name. Although not perfect, the paint really does look good. All service records are included, as well as the manuals, a fitted car cover, letters from the factory (signed by Andy Graham), and it still retains the orig. Blaupunkt cassette/am/fm radio with operator's manual and the power antennae. Correct size battery is still under warranty. Fresh Mobil 1 oil change and new K&N air filter. Last Sunday did a 200 mile trouble-free trip, and the prior Sunday at the annual Brit By The Sea car show, it placed second in class. Pictures were taken over the last 3 weeks and are a good representation of the car's overall appearance. Please ask questions and schedule any inspections prior to auction's end. Not a Lotus expert, just a true enthusiast; since 1972, I have owned 5. Pick-up and delivery is buyer's responsibility, but I can certainly help at this end with loading, and be available to meet your driver's schedule. A $1500.00 deposit is due within 48 hours of auction's end. As long as it's paid for, a reasonable amount of storage time is available in my secure home garage while you arrange shipping or ready your garage. Thank you for looking.
