It is time for someone else to enjoy this classic super car. It has been my dream car since I was 12 years old. I am so glad and proud to have this super car for more than 5 years. I spent all kind of money and have the experts to fix up all the issues it had and dressed it back up to make it runs and looks like a modern super car. This is one of the most reliable Esprit Lotus ever made. Right now, it should be able to drive across the country without much issue. I keep a blog on my Esprit ownership experience. I have 5 cars now and running out of garage space. It is time for someone else to enjoy this classic super car and have the right to show it off to more admirers and have the bragging right of owning a true exotic car.
It has a Salvaged title before my ownership, but I checked carefully and all are repaired and not noticeable either from looking at it or driving it.
Some of the major improvement on this Esprit: Adjustable high performance coilovers shocks, stainless steel clutch tubing, cable, and new clutch plate. V8 style OZ racing wheels, new V8 style muffler with new valance, rebuilt engine with all 16 new valves, new spark plugs, all new silicone coolant tubing, Blue racing blue timing belt, new halogen headlamps, new anti-rust, anti-leak lining for both gas tanks, new fuel pump, new coolant temperature sensor, new high capacity battery, new oxygen sensor, new catalytic converter, new double din 6 flat screen Pioneer DVD audio, Kenwood amp, two bass amp speaker boxes behind both seats, and some other improvements. It is very trouble free right now and is in the best running condition in the 5 years of my ownership. I have driven it on the track, around the mountain passes, or just daily commutes. It is a car that is meant to be driven and it is in great driving condition now. It is as reliable as a Exotic sport car can be and it can still 0 to 60 under 5 second.

Vikings Motor Sports rebuilt the engine, put on racing timing belt, new clutch plate, new silicone hoses, new turbo / super charger prop. Later I had the gas tanks lining to fix the micro gasoline leak and it should have life time no more leak guarantee. The headlamps were replaced to high end halogen when the old ones went dark. The fuel pump is also brand new. The O2 sensor was replaced to fix an idling issue. The complete tune up (B service) was done last year so I can pass the smog check, which it did easily with the new spark plugs. The Catalytic converter was replaced 3 years ago for passing the smog check then and should be good for at least another 5 years. This year was the first year that I can just put in gasoline and drive. No need to visit the shop for anything. It is is the best mechanical condition in my ownership right now. I really planned to keep the car forever and I treated as such. It will need new tires fairly soon, but should have enough to drive you home where ever in the continental US. Oh, yes, the double DIN Pioneer DVD audio unit is also has a touch screen GPS Navigation mode to guide you home if you need it.
As for the odometer thing on the DMV report. It was just a simple typing error. One worker just pressed the 7 instead of 4 on the key pad one time and it stayed on the record. I have the car in May of 2010 at around 46K miles. Now it is around 71828 miles. That is around 25K happy miles for me. I still get the admiration look from people the first mile to last mile I drove. I will miss the feeling, but it is time for someone else to enjoy it for the next five years. I still have not found the secret button that turns it into a submarine. Maybe the next owner will.
