VERY RARE COLLECTOR CAR, WITH HANDLING BY LOTUS FOR ISUZU, THIS IS ONE OF THE TOP 10 FORGOTTEN SPORTS CAR IN THE WORLD, AND IT IS VERY RARE. ONLY FEW SURVIVED TO THIS DAY.
Designed by the revolutionary Italian legend Giorgetto Giugiaro, the one behind greats like the Lotus Esprit, Ferrari 250 GT and many others, His concept, called the Ace of Clubs, was angular and sleek at the same time, very sporty, and thoroughly modern. The original Impulse was designed in Italy, built in Japan, backed by an American auto giant, and fettled with by the Brits – an absolute world product. The Impulse looked like a rocket ship.
This second-generation, 1990 Impulse XS, lacks the luster of its angular forefather, but with the memorable ‘Handling by Lotus’ package, it’s still quite a rare bird. The Impulse got the legendary rare Lotus Elan M100 1.6L L4 DOHC 16V engine and Lotus-tuned suspension package with softer springs, stiffer shocks and revised sway bars.
This car has had 1 owner for the last 12 years and it's
in driving condition
with as little as new tires, battery and oil change. Some things need to be changed or tuned, after it's been parked for the last 2-3 years:- it needs new tires (they have thread left but are old)- needs oil and filter change- needs new battery, although the current one may still hold some charge- needs a brake check (MAYBE new pads and bleeding?)- it has some rust spots (seen in pictures)- AC needs to be checked and eventually charged- Driver-side inside door handle and lock are broken and need to be fixed- dashboard is cracked, by sun heat.- carpet, passenger seat and ceiling cloth have some stains - paint has some blemishes and the clear coat is peeling off in some places.- radio antenna is broken
The engine was replaced with a rebuilt one and has less than 5, 000 miles on it
